Interesting things from the WWW

Post by hhfarang »

There are a lot of interesting illustrated, interactive, and video web sites out there. Here are two. I'm starting this thread hoping to get more input from others with other informative pages.

Awesome website features an interactive timeline covering 14 billion years of history (need to use Chrome or Safari, not supported in Firefox)

http://histography.io/

Watch the entire evolution of the universe in under 3 minutes

http://www.businessinsider.com/watch-un ... ?r=UK&IR=T
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Probably only really interesting for Iphone fans... although I found some of the speed tests interesting, like the startup test.

"Economic Output: If States Were Countries, California Would Be France"

Image

The map above was created (with assistance from AEI’s graphic design director Olivier Ballou) by matching the economic output (GDP) in each U.S. state (and the District of Columbia) in 2015 to foreign countries with comparable nominal GDP last year, using data from the BEA for GDP by U.S. state and data for GDP by country from the International Monetary Fund.

In the early 90's I had a good friend from South Carolina. Spoke more like an Englishman than a Dixie. Unfortunately he died young.

This is the most interesting one yet if you are a history buff! :thumb: :thumb:

Another one from the same folks:

You may have all seen this, but I thought I'd post it anyway...

On the other hand foxes are vermin. They stole my pet duck and chicken and gave my dogs mange. Support hunting.
