Mr Burger 3 Re-opened as Oasis

Post by Big Boy »

I used to like Mr Burger 3 for the setting. Driving past earlier today, I see it has re-opened as Oasis, still serving Thai and European food. Has anybody tried it yet?

Hi Big Boy, I thought that Oasis was a little further down the road just past Mr Burger 3. We took a look at it a while back but were not too impressed but it had only just opened. I will take a look today but think that Mr Burger 3 is still closed.

Oh, that's a shame if you're right. The signage was in the right place, and Mrs BB said she thought it was open. I'll look forward to your on-the-spot update :thumb:

I pass it frequently and as far as i can see it's the old Mr Burger 3 site and looks pretty much the same from the road. I usually pass it in the mornings so don't know how busy it may be when open.

Apologies Big Boy.

Just dropped in and what was Mr Burger 3 has now reopened as Oasis. We didn't try it as we had already had lunch but i will drop in sometime soon and let you know what it is like.

I have to say that I am glad it has reopened as we spent many happy lunchtimes there over the years.

Cheers

I doubt it. The '3 burgers' were run by the same family. The Dad still runs Mr. Burger 1 on Petchkasem near Soi 6.

New owner from France. One of my golf friends who lives close by, tried to eat there in mid-January, was just medium according to him and the wife's taste.

Medium is probably all that it ever was. It was the place that I liked, rather than the food.

I agree, BB. I used to like sitting in one of the sala's watching the fish jump about. The food was 'okay' but nothing to shout about.

I remember the open deck area, but don't remember any salas. Before my time maybe? Don't remember seeing many fish either, but as we usually went for lunch we mostly sat in the covered area out of the sun rather than the open deck and wouldn't see any fish from there.

Definitely Salas around the mini-lake, and if you asked, they would always give you fish food to feed the fish - they used to have some monsters in there. Quite a few varieties as well.

The salas were beyond the main restaurant positioned at the water's edge. To see the fish, you really need kids who get fish food from the staff. Throw a handful anywhere on that lake and you'd see dozens of large catfish fighting for the food. Quite entertaining but without the food you don't see them.
