God, I've got the horseradish sauce. Brought it back from the UK when last there. I'll have to check the expiry date but it's in the fridge.
Whilst away, my wife went and bought one of those turbo ovens. However, apart from once putting a whole chicken in it, it serves its purpose by cooking my wife's fish.
Maybe more Thai people are now realising that there's another way to cook.
I'm just back in the stone age and have to use all that oil.
You can buy horseradish here, I was amazed. I think it was Makro, but could have been Big C in Pala-U road.
But a whole chicken? My wife and I both agreed recently we never saw a whole chicken on sale for roasting.
Where do you get it please? Fresh, NOT frozen.
Don't say live and you have to kill and pluck it, I'll pass on that. :/
I have been corrected. She got this one from the pork shop on Petchkasem Road, just a bit north of the lights at Chomsin. It's on the left hand side as you go north on Petchkasem.
She also says you can get them in the main day market. Just wander around and look at the chicken stalls.

No longer sure about Hua Hin, but I buy them just about every week from BigC or Tesco in Bangkok. For sure, Villa Market has them in Hua Hin. CP produces millions of chickens every week, and sells them in a multitude of shops.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Whole chickens are available every day at Chatchai Market until at least 11:00 a.m. You can ask the chicken seller for the approximate size you want. Very reasonably priced, too.
Thanks guys. I don't shop at Villa Market out of principal (being that I'm cheap). Never seen them fresh at Big C or Tesco Lotus, only wings, feet, legs, breasts, innards and carcasses, wish I could put them all together again, call me Frankenstein.
I have had very good brisket for corned beef and large rib roasts from the French butcher. What I have never had in Hua Hin is a good roast dinner; There again I have not tried everywhere as we tend to cook ourselves. Normally overcooked veg, soggy roast potatoes, instant gravy and Yorkshire puddings that would get yo chased out of town in Yorkshire let it down; Also over cooked meat and stuffing that has not been stuffed into anything Whole chickens are easy to get but you do have to be early for the markets and they usually come with the head. Use it to make stock for your gravy.
As far as roast beef is concerned, I'm not really a "Sunday Roast" sort of person, but I have heard you can enjoy decent roast at a pub/restaurant up Soi 2 or Soi 112 (not sure which), and as far as I can remember, if you spend more than 200 baht on drinks then the meal is free.
If all else fails, buy a turbo oven and make your own roasts.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Turbo ovens are fantastic for roasts, I bought a prime rib joint on the bone added a little salt / pepper and sprinkled with Cajon spice, wrapped in tin foil, added half boiled potatoes on bottom, a few holes in tin foil so fat dripped on potatoes about 180 deg f about 30 to 45 minutes ...As per taste, veggies cooked separately, and couple microwave Yorkshire puddings and bisto gravy...Perfect roast dinner

Makro usually sells whole chickens as well.

I never saw fresh chickens whole in Makro, only frozen. I looked a few times. Anyway, I'm off to market to buy one to cook one for the missus. Nice surprise on Sunday for her after her flight and taxi ride (unless I cremate it....)
Sorry guys, we're meant to be talking roast beef. However, whilst off subject , we've always bought our Christmas capons at Makro. However, it might be a seasonal thing.
