Korean Bbq?

Post by Rob c »

Is there anywhere in HH & if so, where's the best Korean bbq in town. My Mrs is into her food big time (Isarn girl). One thing she misses in Blighty is a KBBQ, any help will be much appreciated as it will stop Mam moaning!

Ther was one on Petchkasem near Soi 94. It has recently been done up so I am not sure now. There is another one on Petchakasem on the west side a bit north of town. Another, I believe, is on the corner (with Petchkasem again) of the Soi that has Hua Hin Meat and Bacon in it.

The first two I mentioned have signs that say Korean BBQ.

Am I right in thinking that the Korean BBQ is where you get a cooker (BBQ) on your table and order bits of meat and fish and cook it yourself.

Guess is right - there are at least a couple north of the town centre. 'Moo yang Gowlee' is indeed the barbecue in the centre of the table.

I've eaten at the one on the corner of Soi 41, the soi HHH&B is on, many times. Would certainly recommend it. Eat as much as you can for next to nothing and I liked the idea of getting fined per plate of food that you didn't finish. Can't remember how much the fine is as the food's always finished, but could be 10 Baht. There are another 2 or so within walking distance of this one.
Another "famous" one is on the Pala U road, on the right hand side as you turn left, heading out of town, just after The Canal Road. I've not eaten here as it's generally been a weekend when I've passed by and it's been mobbed.
