Well, I had one of Anna's (Soi 88/1) yesterday to see what all the fuss was about. Very tasty, if a tad pricey at 90 bt for a relatively small pie. In the interests of fairness, I'll now have to try one from HHHB!

(Not sure how anyone could eat these hot!)

HHHB are 15 Baht cheaper. I will also make the effort to try one of the 88/1 pies.

I agree about eating them hot - the thought horrified me the first time when living in NE England, but with a fair portion of Mushy Peas my taste buds were suitably tickled. When I was told it was pie & peas, I was expecting steak or steak & kidney.

I'm surprised a Geordie like JW ( :run: ) hasn't supported eating pork pies hot as well as cold. :D

I had a steak pie with mushy peas and real chips with gravy from there on Saturday night,
200 Baht and it included a drink,

Tasted great and service was good but the owner had to help out as the serving girl was as bright as a eclipse.

Will try the breakfast this week

She does the best Pasty I've had in a long time too, and her pies are the best by far south of bkk if not Thailand........I have the full English there every weekend. It's well worth a try.

I've been there 2/3 times and never found a pork pie or anything I fancied - this was in the afternoon. Massaman pies don't cut it for me, nor meat and potato if I can't understand what meat is in the pie. So I guess she's doing all right if that's all that's left later.

We tried their Scotch Eggs a few weeks ago - they looked fantastic. Oh how disappointed we were - they ended up inside our dogs, who didn't seem to complain though.
