There is a buffet restaurant on Petchkasem near soi 47. It is a Thai buffet with grill on you table. It includes shrimp (penalty 35 baht for each shrimp you take but don't eat!), fish, chicken, ham and steak. There is a large grill in the back for grilling larger items.
The price is rediculously low, only 99 baht per person (that's when I was there last year). A similar Thai buffet restaurant is located on the Pala U Road. You may not find everything to your liking but at the price it's certainly worth a try.
Enjoy!

They don't have names in the way western restos do, unless you read Thai. They are large spaces, well-lit and no sides just a roof. Hard to miss.

Most of the hotels have a buffet 1 or more times a week and I believe Terrace90 (See advertorial thread above) are still doing very good weekly buffets.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

No Name. There is a big sign in Thai and listing the price: 99 Baht (perhaps there is a small increase compared to last year). From town center, go north on Petkasem until Soi 47 on your right side. The restaurant is partly open-air, adjacent to soi 47. Can't miss it. The one on the Pala U road is a little harder to find, but look for same sign on your right side a few hundred yards after the canal road curve. Bon Appetit.

We ate at Backyard Steak last night for the first time. We could not believe the variety and quality of the food in the buffet for B189. Great value!

I agree with the comments about Backyard Steak, it's brilliant for the price.
