OK guys, lets put this in simple terms for you. This is not Facebook where somebody writes something and it gets forgotten as soon as the post drops off the bottom of the page. A forum is more like a library - it is a repository of information.

If you want to know what the food is like in Restaurant A, you don't want to have to read through a huge thread, which is also talking about the food in Restaurant B, Restaurant C, Restaurant D etc. You want to access a thread about Restaurant A, and read people's reviews of that Restaurant.

As GR says, somebody enjoying a meal in Restaurant A is not news, but your review can be very useful if somebody is trying to decide between Restaurant A and Restaurant B. Restaurant C and Restaurant D are totally irrelevant to that decision process.

Lev and GR have asked you to keep your comments on this thread to News. Any further misplaced comment will be deleted or moved to another area where it may have some relevance.

It seems like El Toro Loco in Soi 94 has opened a full restaurant now outside the rock club. Menu and other info to be found on their web site.

Burders and More

Post by hin »

Looks like someone is building a new small food court about a block north of the 20 baht store and across the street from the existing one. On the Soi between Soi 94 and the Soi 88 food court. Nice little open air restaurant serving spaghetti, Vietnamese and Thai food, beer, wine, soft drinks, and good burgers in a nice black bread flax seed bun with a choice of duck, pork, chicken, beef or lamb. Large letters standing on the roof say ‘Burgers & More‘ N 12º 33’ 22.6” x E 099º 57’ 18.6’

New Mexican Restaurant

Post by Felipesed1 »

There is a new Mexican restaurant opened on soi 88, a bit before the Law Court on the left hand side going up the hill.

Called "Cantina". Usual Mex food, enchilladas, burritos, nachos etc.

Nice big place, friendly owner (Australian), open every day until at least 10pm.

A welcome addition to Huahin cuisine.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Google maps didn't like the 'x', and it's 18.6", not 18.6'

Shaka Cafe opened in the space previously occupied by Cafe Mekong on Soi 94. That's 2 shops east of the gas station, on the same side. Copy & Pasters have at it: 12.554757,99.953711

Sign and menu say they have 6 types of food, but I can remember only 4: Thai, Chinese, Mexican and Breakfast.

For those who haven't eaten there I'd like to recommend Passport Restaurant on Smorprong Rd, on the way to the Wat, across from Tropical Hill 1. It's owned by Mike and American and his Thai wife who does the cooking. If your a pork chop aficionado they don't get an better than this. About 1" think and the size of a T-bone, sweet and juicy. They serve Western and Thai food at extremely reasonable prices. Ex: The pork chop with baked, mashed or fries and a large salad is 235BHT. I've been eating there for 4 yrs. and everything tastes good.
