Internet access in Hua Hin

Post by Lev »

Just a quick poll to find out what people in Hua Hin are using to connect to the internet. I have been searching for a new ISP and all I could find today in the computer places were CS kits or TT&T. Gone are the days when we had a choice (JI, I-net, TOT, A-net), it seems Mr T is squeezing out the competition again in his tyrannical bid for world domination. So what do you connect with and are you happy with it?

Word of advice: dont ever buy a JI-net kit, just spent the last hour and a half and over 250 dial attemps to get online :cuss: 1222 is a total waste of space.

Stick to the internet cafes

Post by Jockey »

I had a horrible experience with CI net. My connection kept dropping out and my PC automatically connected. I was stuck with a one-month bill of over 9,000 baht as each connection costs 10 baht. I decided until a decent broadband connection is possible - I will stick to internet cafes.

by CI I'm assuming you mean CS ? They are one of the better ISPs although more expensive. The problem may have been your modem or phone line, I rarely get disconnected with them. Could you have been dialling Phetburi province by mistake? (12 baht per min ... ouch), 9000 baht is a hundred local calls per day - a local call (any 032 or 1222) is 3 baht per connection.

Hua hin seems to lack the availablility of internet kits. I buy in Pranburi (little place called Chawinpat) where there are loads to choose from, currently on a 30 day unlimited access with Pacific for 349 baht (the only drawback is 1222  )

8) Tried out Loxinfo and I kept getting booted. Was a 5 hour package from a Burger king promotion. OK sometimes, though. I went back to TT&T which I can often stay on line longer than the stated 3 hours (should I so desire!) My TT&T is out of Petchaburi, which I believe is the service location. 8)
