Smartphone screen replacement

Post by Gus »

I arrive in town next week and I was looking at getting a cracked screen replaced on my number 2 Smartphone.
In the past I have noticed a lot of mobile phone outlets near to the railway, just down from the Night Market.
Any rough idea of the cost in HH? if it is not cheaper than the UK, then I won't bother.
TIA Gus

I replaced my cracked screen on my Samsung Galaxy S7 on the 3rd. floor at Market Village shopping mall. I think I paid around 2000 baht. This is only the glass screen. If you have destroyed the lcd screen the price will be quite a bit higher.

I paid 1600 to replace the glass and the LCD on an Asus Zenphone 5, at the Asus stall on the 3rd floor at Market Village recently. It took 30 minutes.

Thanks a lot guys, the screen is not too badly cracked so I assume it is just the glass screen, so decisions decisions, lady or new screen :)

Not all phones have a replaceable glass screen. A growing number have all the layers as one part. My daughter dropped hers and cracked the screen. Cost over 15,000 as the glass was not seperate (Galaxy edge).

You might check Lazada to see if they have a cost of glass screen/digitizer (typically sold together) or only the complete screen/lcd.
Just replaced my wife's Samsung tablet screen/digitizer for ~300 baht using a Chinese screen and instructions on the internet with the help of my stepson (who had dropped it) - told him I would save him money and he would learn something to boot.
