For my 2 cents, I use Edge occasionally, and rank it below Chrome (which also has various annoyances and issues.)

There's no ideal browser (horses for courses) but storage is cheap to keep several of them. I have the popular ones as well as a few alternatives listed below.

- Chrome users might want to check out Slimjet Browser (http://www.slimjet.com). Like Chrome, it uses the Chromium base-code (so that can use Chrome extensions) but with a better implementation and adding a some extras/features.

- The better known Opera browser (http://www.opera.com) provides a "turbo mode" and more interestingly, free VPN. Well, it's not quite VPN but close to that. The interface is less spartan than that of Chrome or Edge, and that aspect might be important for many users.

- Flashpeak SlimBrowser (http://www.flashpeak.com) has a traditional menu system, offers a lot of features, and it's way less bloated than the Mozilla family (Firefox, Pale Moon, SeaMonkey, K-meleon, etc.).

Well, after a lot of heartache, I was forced to make a decision this morning. Firefox threw a hissy fit and was throwing up warnings for almost anything. I uninstalled and re-installed several times, but it was no good. The re-installs would not let me do add ons etc, so it was literally thrown out of the pram.

I eventually opted for Chrome. Once I really started, it wasn't so bad - I had to experiment with add ons, but everything seems OK. Even bookmarks goes into the required drop down menu when the 'ugly' bar is full.

[Edit] - quite a weight off my mind now I've done it.

Two is always good BB. I would download Opera as well to have it on hand and to compare performance if Chrome should act up in some way. Opera has a built in ad blocker (user controlled) which speeds things up significantly with certain sites. Pete

You'll see similarities as Opera is based upon Chrome technology. Pete

Big Boy wrote:Another problem with my new laptop, but I still don't think its a Windows 10 problem.

With Microsoft Outlook 10, I'm receiving mail, and as far as I know, my mail messages are being received. Every version of Outlook I've used before, sent mail has been saved in the Sent folder, and deleted mail has been in the Deleted folder.

I'm quite a heavy user of Outlook, but after a few days of usage, I have 3 messages in my Sent folder and 1 message in my Deleted folder. Can anybody tell me where the missing messages are hiding (if anywhere), and how to get them to show in to the Sent and Deleted folders please?
An update on this one. Embarrassing, I know, but my sent and deleted items were there all of the time

The sent items were in another Sent file hiding at the bottom of the menu bar. The deleted items were not as I expected, in the Deleted file, but again hidden at the bottom of the menu bar, there was a Trash folder.

There is obviously a difference between Deleted and Trash, but it isn't obvious to me. To date, Outlook has put 4 items into the Deleted file and the rest in Trash. Can anybody explain the fundamental difference please?

This is what I was referring to in my previous post, BB, where different instances of your email (web, PC, mobile device) are set to send email to different places. The iPhone, for example, defaults to "trash" and "sent items" instead of "deleted items" and "sent". If the folders don't exist, the device will create them and, since you are using IMAP, they will be propagated throughout your mailbox and if you're not looking for them, you won't easily see them. Where emails ultimately go is determined by which device or interface you route them through. Each method you use will provide options of the folders you can route emails through and the trick is finding these options and accurately setting them: good luck!

I got so tired of my email service providers (IMAP) I recently switched to Microsoft Exchange via Office 365 for business. Since I have my own domain name I had to choose the business service since it's not an option for personal accounts. At less than £3 each month I have enterprise-grade email and total confidence in its uptime and service.

Search location

Post by StevePIraq »

Hope someone can help with this recent issue.

Recently whenever I search for anything my results always focus on Singapore. I have checked my settings and my region is set as Thailand with time zone as UTC+7 Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta.

MSN home page is always full of Singapore adverts etc.

Usually this happens when the browser auto-detects your IP address and serves you up local content, it is very annoying.

Not sure if you're using Chrome or what but this may help reset it: http://www.thesempost.com/force-google- ... y-version/

Those ads are based on your recent internet usage. Some forumula looked at that and spit out Singapore. Of course, if you use a VPN node in Singapore, that's the reason.

I am using Microsoft Edge for internet access and a VPN, so maybe it is the VPN and the Google NCR does not solve the problem.

Not the end of the world just annoying

The VPN is probably giving you a Singapore IP address then, try manually changing it.

Exactly, this is the problem with Farcebook, over 50% of what you read on there is bullshit. It is pollution of the internet.
