For Word 2007 and later versions go to File - Options - Proofing then review/change the settings for AutoCorrect.

For older Word versions go to Tools - AutoCorrect options and also see Tools - Spelling & Grammar (or just press the F7 shortcut). Alternatively, go to Tools - Options - Spelling & Grammar.

Cheers

Google photos

Post by thecolonel »

Every time I take piccie my Google photos app wants me to publicly share that photo through my Google account! It gives me a yes/ no(discard) option and I say no but I really don't want this happening. I have gone into settings and can't see how to disable it, any help appreciated thanks

I dont use that app but I think you have to disable 'Google photos backup' to stop it trying to upload your pics every time.

I have Google photos and backup to Gcloud and I don't ever get that message... I didn't mess with the settings; just installed the app and opened it. Google asked me once if I wanted to backup my photos to it's cloud and I said yes. Since then, no more dialogue.

It must be something somewhere in your settings.

Actually after I posted this the administrator took it down! So that motivated me to try to fix.... so anyways I found out it was Google MAPS that was, the culprit! That was set to notify me of pictures taken wherever I was so I could post them, so I disabled it with some fiddling

The Administrator took nothing down, the topic was merged/moved to the appropriate section.

Problems with AIS 2G today?

Post by NOKYAI »

Hi folks,
My 2G AIS service up here in Mon mai, seems to have suddenly stopped. My phone shows 4 bars but says emergency only.

Has the service just been switched off....not heard anything about this for some time.
I have credit, but could I have run out of time? I have been back in the UK for a couple of months, so this is possible. But have bought more credit/ time but can't load it because emergency only.
Or is the service down?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, good afternoon everyone!

I copy lots of images from the it.

Unfortunately some of them refuse to be subjected to Picasa.
Is there a way to manipulate this block?
There are some apps on Picasa that are not available on Paint.

Thanks!

Have a nice weekend!

So, it seems to be time to buy a new PC. Had the present one around 5 years and the problems are becoming increasingly frequent.

I use the computer up to 12-14 hours a day. I'm a professional translator, so most of the use is text-based, mainly involving MS Office and Acrobat PDF, but the files can be pretty large with the graphic content involved.
I run 3 x 32" LED TV's as monitors, so have to have a pretty powerful graphics card.
I also use the computer for TV/video streaming, sometimes parallel with working.

So what sort of specs should I be looking for in a new computer, in terms of processor, RAM, hard disk and graphics card specs.

Look forward to your suggestions.

Everyone will have a different answer, and it all depends on your budget, you can spend 1,000 or 20,000 baht on a graphics card alone!

But if you want something to last the next five years I'd go for the following ...

CPU: Intel i5 or AMD FX 9000 series
RAM: Kingston DDR4 16 GB
Hard Drive: SSD 256GB (keep your data on a portable hard drive)
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1050 or Radeon R9 285
PSU: Coolermaster or Thermaltake 700 watts or above

Of course your mainboard will depend on which combination of the above you go for, if you have deep pockets go for the i7 CPU. The solid state drive will be a lot faster than a regular hard disk and you'll get a noticeable performance boost out of it - your data should be kept off the system drive. With graphics cards the sky is the limit, the two I've listed are both very capable but you can spend thousands on them. Most people over look the power supply and use a cheapo one that comes with the case and cannot produce the juice for the top end hardware. You should spend at least 3,000 baht on a decent PSU.

All of the components can be ordered online if you have the inclination to build it yourself!

http://www.tomshardware.com is a great website for comparing PC hardware.

A few days ago, a friend told me that he couldn't access Chrome or Firefox - getting the message, 'No Internet'.

I'm now getting exactly the same i.e. I can only use IE.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

He is connected via TOT, and I'm connected via True. I've tried my mobile hotspot, but still the same.

I think I've solved it. Betternet is not allowing access. Disable Betternet, and all is well.

I thought no problem, and re-enabled Hide My Ass - that won't work either

No issues for me with TOT fiber or True 4G. Pete
