Google & YouTube

Post by MajorBloodnok »

prcscct & Big Boy thanks!

GOOGLE PROBLEMS AGAIN!

Some time ago I told you I was kicked out of YouTube.

I have been using my wife's YouTube account since,
BUT
when I have signed into her account/channel via Google
I'm stuck in her Google Account for good!(bad actually!)
Whenever I try to sign into my Google account, my wife's
email will automatically be shown, even if I sign out and
reboot the laptop, with the empty box for me to enter her
password!
This is driving me mad! :banghead:

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The simple answer is to open a new tab in the browser. Doesn't that work for you?

And if you want to surf and watch/listen to YouTube at the same time, simply run 2 screens in extended desktop mode.
Happy New Year to you too, Major!

The C partition on my PC (Windows 7 Ultimate) is running out of space. Can anyone recommend a reliable partition extender software please?

Barrys, you mean the main C drive, presumably your hard disk? I remember back in the day when you could double-up disks using compression software and effectively create a new or expanded drive but I don't know that's still possible. I'd love to know if it is.

If your physical hard drive has space, let's say you have a 2TB drive but that for some (unlikely) reason your primary C drive was only partitioned into 1TB, then it's possible to claim back some or all of the remaining physical space. Many computers ship with a small partition created to store recovery files or the original install media, since no computers ship with disks these days. You could technically claim this small amount of space back but could then be at risk if you ever wanted your original install files.

You could:
a) ruthlessly prune your C drive of unwanted, duplicated and unnecessary files
b) use an external storage solution such as a USB stick (thumb drive)
c) use an SD card, if your PC has a slot for one - most modern laptops do
d) buy and install a new, higher capacity drive and clone your system across to it

If you've already taken route a) and don't want a precarious appendage as in b) or your laptop doesn't have an SD slot as in c), then it's option d). This will need a transfer drive to temporarily copy your existing C drive to and a bit of know-how, possibly some software, but long-term will be the most complete solution.

Unless it is still possible to double-up partitions...

Hi J.J.B. - thanks a lot for the tips - a) was the very first thing I did but, as I clean the C drive pretty regularly, this was not going to generate much extra space.

My hard disk has C, D & E partitions and an M (system reserved) partition.

The current status is:

Local Disk C: 9.04 GB free of 361 GB
Data (D): 339 GB free of 361 GB
Data (E): 168 GB free of 374 GB

Ideally, I would like to take 100 GB each from D & E and use this to extend C.

I was wondering whether either of these (or other) options might help me achieve this:
https://www.partitionwizard.com/resizep ... ows-7.html
http://www.disk-partition.com/resource/ ... ows-7.html

These require downloading and installing a 'partition and disk management software'.
I was wondering if this will really work and if it's safe. If so, is there a particular program that is preferable.

Both of your options will acheive what you want to do, just make sure you read the instructions.

I have just used Easus Partition Master which is a free download from:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details ... ition.html

Read the blurb and it's an easy solution. Use the Wizard and follow the instructions.

How is that possible? Do you keep data on C:? Windows must be there, most programs install there by default. Everything else can and should be on other drives. Does your pruning includes the Recycle bin?

This free tool shows space taken by each folder. It also has a graphic view so the REALLY BIG files are immediately obvious. In the example below, the red block in the upper right is a 7.6 GB file, while the medium sized purple block at the top left isn't a single file, it's many <1mb files.

Thanks a lot robcar and Homer for your help and advice.
Homer, yes my pruning does include regularly emptying the Recycle Bin and I do keep my work and other files on the E partition.
In the end, I opted for the MiniTool Partition Wizard (free edition). It was very easy to use and I simply doubled the size of C by taking 200 GB from the D partition.
