Good free safe email provider

I have both hotmail and gmail. No real problems with either although gmail allows bigger picture files.

Over the years I've had many but the best IMO is Gmail. Both Hotmail and Yahoo are unreliable, easily infected (highjacking etc)and in Thailand sometimes totally useless with regard to receiving messages

Thanks All! My son uses Gmail and likes it. Never thought aol has a free service, will have to look into it, good idea!

I used AOL as my email server at a cost for many years, but changes to their FREE service when I came to Thailand and have absolutely no problem. If you have had no trouble with it before why change?

Yes, I wasn't aware they had a free service. If I can keep my e-maiil name I will, had it too many years

The best part of Gmail for me is the spam filtering. I get a lot of spam but it all goes to the spam folder.

I have several free accounts including gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and mail.com and the all work well. I've never encountered any problems with any of them, not even hotmail that Buksi has had problems with, and I probably use it the most. It's really down to whose format you like the most. I don't like the conversational grouping that gmail uses (maybe you can turn it off) but that's just a personal preference so others may love that format.

This is exactly the problem - they both have such strong filters that you're probably losing a significant percentage of genuine email along with the spam. Fine for chatting to friends and family - not so for business that requires the ability to receive unfiltered email from different domain and mail servers all over the world.

Every so often I go through my spam as its good for my ego.......all those beautiful Young girls from Russia wanting to marry me and people fron Nigeria wanting to put money in my account, not sure why I need so many adds for Viagra though ( perhaps I will need them with a young Bride and millions in the bank) :-)
