My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: The Android Thread
I may have asked this before but does anyone know of a decent spam filter for Android that actually works? I have all my email accounts setup as IMAP on the phone and SpamAssassin setup and working on the server - so flagged emails instantly get junked in Thunderbird on the PC but I have to manually delete them on Android.
I'm using the standard email client on Android which maybe the problem ... maybe a better email client would work?

Re: The Android Thread
@buksida - MailDroid is the best one out there at the moment, imo. They have an ad-supported version and a pro version. You can set up your IMAP and add rules/filters.
If your device is rooted and you have ad filtering mechanisms (such as the awesome AdAway) you won't see any ads in the ad-supported version. Otherwise, you can pay for pro (500 baht), or get the pro version free at the "usual places".

Re: The Android Thread
Thanks for that, will give it a go - yes the device is rooted so I'll kill the ads.

Re: The Android Thread
Mrs buksi's Samsung phone is becoming intolerably slow so before she hits me up for a new one are there any good tried and tested cleanup/speedup apps out there?
I've used this to free RAM, clear caches, uninstall the games that the kids have put on, delete the APK files etc etc:

But it is still painful to use - any suggestions or is it time to do a factory reset?

Re: The Android Thread
I use this one one. It seems to keep my 4 year old Galaxy S II running pretty well.

Plus I rooted the phone and got rid of the bloatware and any old apps that I didn't use regularly. That seemed to speed it up as well.

Re: The Android Thread
Should be an easy one this ...
I want to change microSD cards in my phone, upgrade the size, so plugged the phone into the PC and made a full backup of the old card.
Plugged the new SD card into it and copied everything over. Swapped SD cards in the phone and ... all the apps are greyed out.
So there is obviously something I'm missing. How do you clone an SD card for Android?

Re: The Android Thread
Yep, all the hidden files too, the file count is identical on both cards.
Also just tried formatting it in the phone, then copying, but get the same problem - greyed out apps on the new card.

Re: The Android Thread
Are you by chance using an app like folderMount or linkToSD? These apps work by making use of a second partition on your SD card and you would need to repeat the process on the new SD card.
Re: The Android Thread
The obvious way is to move the apps back to phone memory before swapping cards, but I assume that the apps are on the card because phone memory isn't enough, though maybe you could do a few at a time. So I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.

Found this article. Uses Link2SD and Titanium Backup. Phone needs to be rooted. http://technologyplusblog.com/2012/phon ... r-sd-card/.
