Is a Russian forum needed on HHAD?
Is a Russian forum needed on HHAD?
We have been checking our readership stats recently and discovered that August was the highest month of 2010 so far with 62,276 readers.
русских читателей
We also noticed that Russia ranked higher than all of the Scandinavian countries in terms of HHAD visitors.
This lead us to the question of do we need a new section here to share info on Hua Hin in Russian. Naturally moderating it will be a challenge since none of our current moderators can read Russian. If there are any Russian members or guests reading this your input is appreciated, as is that of all of our members.

Maybe they are spying on us, haha just kidding.

Lev ,
Based on the above figures should the Germans not get some consideration with 4 times the hit rate of the Russians ?
Or are we to assume that less Russians are conversant with English ?

oh no

Re: Is a Russian forum needed on HHAD?
IMO I think that the whole forum should be conducted in English. The common language of the business and internet. Foreign language threads will start to become private clubs and defeat the object of a forum.
Bit like walking into a pub in Wales where everyone stops and speaks Welsh as a stranger enters.
I think there is enough foreign language already in the Current Affairs and the Health section

Who, the Russians or Germans? I think there was a German section for two years or more that was seldom used and hence incorporated into the "European Language" section. PeteJimmyGreaves wrote:oh no

Actually, as the aussies are higher than both the Germans and Russians in that table, I'd give them their own language section, as so many are unable to speak English correctly!

I've never owned a 44 Magnum, "only" a Smith & Wesson .357 and a Colt .45, but in this case I'll keep my former firearms holstered using my keyboard instead.
Still waiting though.

Re: Is a Russian forum needed on HHAD?
I think the key to this thread is to have a Russian person speak up and say something within the coming week. Lacking that, it's a non-issue.
I actually hope someone does speak up. Russian tourists and residents are becoming an integral part of Thailand. There are good and bad, just like every other country represented here.
Come on, don't be shy. I know for a fact Eastern Europeans and Russians have a great sense of humor. You would be welcome on here just like everyone is. Pete

I think you've been in China too long. It is a very real problem in Wales to the extent it makes me angry. Probably objective achievedpharvey wrote:...... What are you trying to say?
