A speculative idea

Post by Spitfire »

I am aware that HHAD supports charitable organisations and that many members help out as well, but is there any way to recognise the good work that is done by members or Admin by listing charitable organisations/members somewhere that help worthy local needs through HHAD or members that go out of their way to assist or donate.

I'm not suggesting anything sickly or pious but perhaps a small section of recognition, could benefit the forum, could increase the attractiveness of the forum regards family/mainstrean sponsors that want to be involved with the right kind of family publication/media.

Perhaps, by promoting this then both HHAD will benefit from being a force for good in a family image, without interfering with the 'blood and bullets' of the normal forum, which is the life-blood of the situation, and will attract more donors/members because of it as it would be promoting the right image and attracting the right input/reaction etc from people that you wish to be interested, members or not, surely this is the right way to go. The forum stays the same but emenates that sort of image that is family/good/benevolent etc oriented.

Let everyone know the good deeds and the good guys/members or organisations/companies.

There's room under the search function box.

I'm not suggesting anything too 'in your face' but perhaps a 'tip of the hat' to it as it will benefit the forum as it will project the right image and it is a good direction to go in. Nothing to lose, just in keeping with what the style is that already exists.

Forgive me if this has been suggested/thought of before. Thanks.

We are pretty sure that most of those that do make contributions to charitable organizations are not looking for recognition. A general sticky thread with a list of charities and contact details wouldn't be a bad idea though, HHAD could then try to promote this through other media.

We would need the details though so if anyone has them please post here.

Worthwhile suggestion Ace... tho Lev, I think, is quite correct when he says people who are involved in charity organisations in HH would prefer to stay in the background and leave the attention to the charity... I know this from Mercy House where there are many people supporting behind the scenes whose names will probably never be known, nonetheless, they keep on keeping on. Can we start the list with Mercy House?

And perhaps those looking for volunteers?

We have a good start here, maybe those in the know could post the following:

Charity Name
Brief Description/Website
Address/Contact Number
Bank details for donations

Volunteer work sounds promising but there maybe restrictions due to local labour laws.
