Driver with pick up truck needed to go to Chiang Mai

Post by Gregga »

Hi All! please advise if anyone knows a decent driver with a truck to make a delivery to Chiang Mai
trucks like Toyota Hillux will work just fine. Need to deliver something like a washing machine ( same size ) and around 60 kilos in weight.

Thailand Post have a service called Logispost, where they will deliver anything up to a maximum of 200 kg (yes, you read that right) across the country. (You may have to click the 'EN' icon to get it in English)
http://www.thailandpost.co.th/service-d ... service=20

You'll have to log into the Thai version to download a pdf of the schedule (obviously in Thai, 33 pages, dated sometime last year); it gives a breakdown of delivery rates from region to region based on weight.
From HH to Chiangmai, 60 kg would cost around 600 baht to ship.
Further down they also have it by type of item, think washing machine would be just over 1000 baht from where you are to Chiangmai (also region to region).
Not sure if costs above are inclusive or exclusive of each other.

They also have a door-to-door service at further cost.

Ask your local post office, think it will be cheaper than hiring a driver, plus the ability to track said item.

Yet to try it out, though.

This is the beauty of this Forum, great explanation of what sounds a very viable alternative to what the OP asked.

We received a BBQ made in Udon Thani via the post too. Great service and certainly cost effective. Much cheaper than just the gas alone to Chang Mai and back.

Thank you very much - I'm checking the Thailand post web site now. The only problem is that my cargo is quite fragile - not sure they can handle it with care.
