My last letter to the UK, sent registered, took 6 weeks. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

iHerb - www.iherb.comz - Have read enuf comments about iHerb + had enuf frustration about Thai prices that we decided to try them. For anyone else who might be curious here is a blow by blow of what we experienced.

Placed order using USA debit card 20 July. Shipped 21 July by ‘DHL eCommerce’. Arrived Bkk 2 August, 10AM. 10 Aug, phoned DHL, they said “it is at Customs, will come to HH by post, if not delivered by 25th call iHerb”. It arrived today, 27 August. When placing the order iHerb stated, “Estimated Delivery: August 08, 2018 - September 10, 2018”. So they seem to have Thailand figured out.

Orders at US $40 or more have advantage of free or discounted shipping rates. iHerb said Thai Customs normally does not charge on orders less than $44 - about ฿1500. Our total was $75.50, shipping and Customs were both free of charge. Was sent to Bangkok by DHL eCommerce with tracking listing every step of the way until DHL Bkk. Apparently sat in Customs 21 or 22 days. Bkk to Hua Hin by ordinary post, no tracking number.

About the goods and prices - In Thailand we have only found Q10 at 30mg and Bkk price at ฿200 for bottle of 30 capsules. That is ฿6.66 per 30mg cap. iHerb = smallest Q10 caps are 100mg and they go up to 500mg. We paid US $33.75 -$1.69 discount for bottle of 360 caps at 100mg. That is .089₵, or about ฿2.89 per 100mg cap as opposed to ฿6.66 per 30mg cap for the Thai stuff.

Melatonin - We bought from iHerb at $5.99 -30₵ discount for bottles of 200 tablets at 3mg. That is .028₵ or about ฿0.91 per 3mg tablet. Wont bother to look at Lazada but do it if you need additional shock treatment.

For people who chase the coupons - https://th.iherb.com/info/about - 10% discount on first order, Use Promo Code “NEW10” I missed that, didn’t notice until right now. Also 10% discount if ordering at least once every 60 days. I assume that can mean too you get it if 2nd order is within 60 days.

New subject - I asked a pharmacist in Malaysia why all the pills and capsules and prescriptions are so much smaller here than in USA and NZ and Oz. He claimed because Asians are smaller people. But, they are not that much smaller. Q10, not even a prescription medication but only available here at 30mg…? Aspirin only available at 82mg. In the other world if/when opioids are prescribed its at 20 & 30mg, here its 5 or 10mg max. And isn’t it interesting that 3 or 5mg tablets usually cost almost the same as 10mg. And when packaged in a bottle there might be 30 capsules in a bottle that would easily hold 100 or 200

More off subject info:
Fact 1 - Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Fact 2 - Health freaks are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

I've never had a problem with iherb. Good service & great prices. Customs however is another story. I've been ordering some herbs from a company in India and the last order was sent to customs and held by them. 100+ km. of driving to customs, 10% duty and 7% vat and 50bht. storage charge later I finally had my herbs. The interesting news is that I had to go to the local FDA office and when I asked why this package was chosen I was told by one official that the post office does random checks. Later on I asked another official the same question and was told that the post office was flagging more packages, then, realizing her slip said, the post office does random checks. Uh Huh.

No problems with iherb and I’ve had about 10 orders delivered. As mentioned if the order is 1400bht or below no issues with customs or delays

Maybe I am one of the last to learn this but iHerb has discontinued free shipping for orders over US$40 and has slimmed down discounts for quantity. They do still beat Thailand prices but by a smaller margin so convenience of buying locally versus long wait and Thai post and Customs drill weighs more heavily into the reckoning. Anyone know any other sources that still offer free shipping..?

I received an iherb order via free shipping 2 weeks ago. The minimum order for free shipping is 1420BHT with a maximum of 1kg. per package and no limit on the number of packages. If you keep your order under $100 a package you won't have to deal with customs.d Free shipping was halted during Dec. They probably figured they could make more money during that period by charging for shipping. I've never found any other company that offers free shipping. The other company with a wide variety of products and brands is Lucky Vitamin. The process is easier via iherb.

Thanx, yes they have the most streamlined and easy website. Have only used them 3 times and was happy like a cat finding a bird nest on the ground but the now sudden surprise of $!6 added to a $42 order was a jolt. When composing an order yesterday, adjusted the items up and down to totals between $39 and $45 but all had shipping added at $15~$17. Altho there is big markup/profit on this stuff maybe international postage has increased enuf that they do not want to pay it anymore but info on their site does still shows “Make sure your order total is $40 ( $40 USD ) or more, to take advantage of our free or deeply discounted shipping rates” https://th.iherb.com/info/about

They used to send by DHL eCommerce, with tracking, to Customs in Bangkok then post office w no tracking from there to HH. But now on the order summery it looked like only post office is indicated and 4 pound limit.

Sent a “Contact Us” question to iHerb so will see If they reply to it. This website lists some other venders https://www.consumerlab.com/products.asp but a pain in the a$$ to register and try hypothetical orders just to nail down who is what

A few months ago I sent a couple of "Contact Us" questions to iHerb and they haven't answered. Their customer service is getting worse. Maybe they're outsourcing it to Thailand. (That's a joke, son)
