Does anyone know where I can buy methylated spirit (alcool a bruler) for a Fondue set with alcohol stoves ?

At a push you could get away with those solid fuel tins they use under soup ....available at most mom and pop stores.
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!

An Aluminum tom yam pot might do the trick that you put a lump of hot charcoal inside. Word of caution with a methylated spirt stove the flame is almost invisible in strong sunlight make sure its absolutely out before refilling. I know a guy that severely burnt his arms on a yacht refilling one thinking the flame was out he had to jump over board.

Pharmacies have it if you are willing to pay big ฿฿ I used to buy it cheaply in one & two liter jugs at a paint store, maybe Home-Pro has it. It is used as thinner for shellac. Also useful for removing markings from felt tip pens etc. True that you cannot see an alcohol flame - dangerous in that respect but also safe in the respect that an alcohol flame can be put out with water

Thinner for shellac or paints and alcohol from pharmacies are really different ! Absolutely not the same alcohol composition, and with methylated spirit you see a yellow blue flame.

salut JC,
le mieux que nous avons trouvé est de l'alcool solide "SOLID ALCOHOL FUEL" marque FERNO, dans une boîte rouge, c'est une pâte qu'on met dans le réceptacle à alcool et qui brûle très bien

je l'ai acheté chez OKay à Cha Am 55 bahts la boîte de 200 grammes
