No idea where you may be able to buy it, but in Australia we call bio ethanol "methylated spirits". We used to use it in the bush on a small stove usually called a "Primus Stove", as the starting fuel. Maybe some farming supply shop may have it.

In Alaska, we placed our wood chips in a small frying pan, and placed the pan on an electric burner element. No liquid fuel required and no open flame, only the electric element heating the bottom of the frying pan.
