I've never seen one of those in Thailand... often wondered if it would be a viable business, but the machines would have to be cheap to compete with the mom and pop laundries on nearly every soi...

yeah I know, we had one at my apt. in bkk

the dryer is the key, just so much better than hang drying, fluffier.
They even had the big size american dryers

YES! There is actually a coin-op laundry facility i Hua Hin, on the Klong (Canal) Road about a mile north on your right hand side. It is outdors, and it is part of a large general store that sells furniture, hardware and more. Right now there is a Songkran carnival next to the store. I believe the price is 30 THB per machine. I have not tried it myself, just seen it passing by. :thumb:

There's one on Chomsin Rd as well - over the rail line and about opposite Bamboo Grove. Don't know if it has hot tumble dryers though.

Coin-op laundries can be dangerous. Pete

we went out to find it but although my wife is a Thai national nobody she talked to, including tuk tuk driver ever heard about Soi Khlong.
If you indicate the coin-up laundry is about 1 mile to the North then it should be obviously before the airport on the road to Cha-am.
If you look Hua Hin at Google maps could you indicate the number or approximate number of the soi?
From where do you start to count 1 mile : from the Clock Tower?
