Jazz

First post: Plan on going to HH in ten days, based on several delights, one of which was the idea that I could find jazz there. Read an article claiming this, but in reading various posts, it sounds mostly like rock is played at most venues. Was jazz mainly related to the festival, or is it fairly widespread? Thanks in advance. :

Hi and welcome to the board.
The Jazz festival is on around June time. Thats really the only time you'll find jazz in Hua Hin unless one of the big Hotels has a special event going on. Try the official website:

Although I think its a little dated now.

Thanks Lev. A travel agent told me that though the King wanted jazz on a regular basis, the policy had changed. One foreigner was arrested for playing free, and that most of the foreign players left; locals have turned to piano bar or rock. Just what I was told.
