Demise of AWOL magazine

Post by Thistle »

Personally very saddened to read that last fridays issue, number 472,on the 30th March will be there last.
Not sure how the guys who oversee this website if they will permit the post, however, its folding and been a part of many peoples life within Hua Hin for approx 10 years. Therefore i assume it does not contravene any issues about publishing a post as they closing down.
I wish the guy who ran it,along with his staff all the best,i have read the reasons for closing, and will not comment here.
Hopefully,in the same month we not lose a local newsworthy publication, along with a soccer team, local to Hua Hin.

Sad indeed but I'm afraid it is a sign of the times.

I will miss it, used to pick up a copy each week

Crossword and page three were my favourites - and Margret's from Hull article as well

Yes it's a shame. Is managing editor of a printed newspaper a restricted profession? I guess we don't know the reasons for his work permit not being renewed.

Well we do, as it's explained by the editor himself.

As I am a regular beach-walker I liked having the tide tables. AWOL had weekly info. I always think that Hua Hin Today should really be called Hua Hin Last Month.

Huh. I didn't see the last issue of the magazine with the explanation, as I couldn't always pick it up every week. But now I understand it's available online. I don't think I'm permitted by forum rules to paste a link to it here, but anyone who wants to know the full sorry story can google it.

It was a magazine specially for Brits. About news ! 555, ridiculous, some lines on first page. I really don't regret, wish a real magazine like in Pattaya and Phuket with real local news. But who have the guts in this shithole ?

I would be more than happy to pay any moving expenses to either Pattaya,or Phuket in order to get rid of you, along with your totally obnoxious comments, and pathetic childish behaviour on this forum.Obviously the country you actually hail from is not capable of publishing anything,or i am sure we would have all heard about it.If you regard the location you are living in as a shithole,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then of course we all assume you are accustomed to this type of living.Kindly go and give us all peace.
I can be contacted directly via private message.

You may have a point or at least a valid personal opinion, however no need to express it like that. If you don't like it here you can try to leave. Just as I am trying to do however financial commitments make it difficult.

Interesting comments, instead of being positive to make things better, you only can be negative and aggressive, typical Brit.
