Sorry Nereus.
Cheers Khundon.
If you went for a 25 cbm tank I guess you must be practising for your PADI certificate....

Statement from the mayor
Let's explain the plumbing situation, because there's a construction project on the front of the market, where the area is 300 millimeters of water, or 12 inches in front of it. It takes about 2 days, now that the plumbing repair is completed since last night, and the water has already been released, but the water supply may not be over because of the water that the water doesn't flow for 2 days, make every home. I'm sorry, sir, I'm sorry, but I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I'm sorry. You can see that we've been working together all the time, so I learned to know.

That's clear as mud. (Google translate?).
Anyway, maybe its saying that full service for everyone won't be resumed for 2 days from 1am Sunday 10th Dec (according to the post on the page before).
We can live in hope although our household was lucky yesterday as we managed to get a tank refill and that'll last us longer than two days as long as the missus doesn't decide to wash all our clothes and water the small garden every 3 hours.

Not just Hua Hin, where we live about 6kms from Cha Am on the HH side, we have not had water for 2 days either - I must admit that I don’t know where our water comes from, but fairly certain it isn’t HH.

Southern Cha Am water is supplied from public irrigation channels then into a water treatment plant at Ruam Jai Pattana Community.

Thanks for the info Steve, this morning on the morning propaganda broadcast they said that the water should be on later today and as good as their word, the water came on about an hour ago.

Management of the Water Supply at the Local Level Needs Improvements
Members of the Hua Hin Municipal Executive have visited and checked the water supply system of The Provincial Waterworks Authority at Khao Sawoei Rat. Their report suggests that treatment of raw water is satisfactory; however improvements are still required at the local level.

Mr. SiraphanKamolpamot, an advisor of the Hua Hin Mayor, accompanied by Miss PailinPongpun, deputy of Hua Hin mayor visited of the Provincial Waterworks Authority at Khao Sawoei Rat (Tab-Tai area), with by Mr. Prachob Chartthong demonstrating the facilities. Mr. Prachob said that untreated from the Pranburi Dam is held in storage tanks before the water is purified and filtered.

The last step is to collect samples to be sent to the lab for a scientific examination by the Department of Health. Approved water is released together with chlorine liquid into the main pipeline to distribute to the public.

This includes Tambon Tab-Tai,Tambon Hin Lek Fai, Tambon Sam Phraya, Cha-Am and the Pranburi area. Mr. Prachob said that calculations for the water tariff depends on the type of user; normal domestic users with not more than 10 units per month then will pay for 11 THB per unit, with commercial users at 19 to 29 THB per unit dependent upon the usage. He believes the Provincial Waterworks Authority is providing a good service, clean water and maintaining care of the service supply 24 hours a day. Mr. Siraphan said that for the subsequent management of the water supply in Hua Hin is still ineffective with little maintenance of the equipment used for the filtering and distribution systems.

He believes there are still problems with accidental leakages and that sediment has remained in water storage tanks. “I went to visit and check the quality and standard of the water supply of Nong Kae, Khoang and Dannon Kasem and found that the management of the water supply was still not up to standard. I have seen improvements in performance and quality however improvements are still required and this will be reported to the Mayor of Hua Hin” said Siraphan.

Well, Mr whoever would look like a right numpty if he arrive to take samples here were we stay in Soi 6 because on most days he would need to use bottled water from 7/11for his samples considering that we do and always have only got water on random occasions.

We're always being told it will improve, but supply is no better today than what it was 10 or 11 years ago. To be honest however, we have been getting water quite regularly for the passed 3 or 4 months, but now it seems to be getting less and less again.

@Nureus - Until you can tell me where it is sign-posted that our road is Soi 4, I will have to insist on calling it Soi 6.

Has anyone experienced problems with water supply south of Hua Hin. I live off 112 between 114 and 116 and the water has been cut off for 3 or 4 days now. Lame excuses from the water company (they say the first thing that comes into their head).

As a newbie may I ask you, about the size and the price for your watertank ? Is it steel or aluminium ? And at least, where you have got it. Thank you for informations.

It's a concrete tank underground and the truck that did an emergency visit tells me it's much more than 25,000 ltrs.

The story:
Because of my large tank, I wasn't aware immediately that the water was cut off. Running 4 sprinklers for 7 hours a day was the only reason I realised it. When the sprinklers stopped, looked in the tank, then checked the meter -- no water coming in. Spoke with the neighbour who said "It's been off for 3 or 4 days!". "Has anyone reported it?" I asked. Apparently not it seems. Therefore made a call the following morning to discover the water company knew nothing about it but promised a call back (never happened of course). On a further call we were told that the water had run out in Hua Hin and they were unable to supply! That's when I posted on here. Rang this morning to be told they'd found a broken main and were currently fixing it. THE WATER IS BACK.
If nobody had called, we'd still be out of water. I don't get it with Thais. Electricity goes off, water goes off but nobody will get on the phone and report it.

Anyway because of a delivery of water, the 13 year silt has been stirred up so now we have brown water which is improving by the hour. Which brings me to your cleaning lady, BB. I still have the number and once the holiday is over I'll give her a call and get it cleaned out.

HHTEL, I live just up the hill from you, nearly to Wat Khao Yai, our city water has been on and reliable, no recent outages. My underground tank is only 6000 liters so I’d have noticed if it was off for days. If there was a broken main it must have been fairly close to your house.
