Alcohol ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches?
Re: Alcohol ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches?
I saw a report a week or 2 ago about stopping unlicensed vendors from selling alcohol on Pataya beaches. Wouldn't surprise me if Hua Hin follows suit.

Possibly - strange thing to happen upon for a first post. I don't know.
I've never known a misleading/badly worded sign removed before. It all seems too convenient.

It's for sure that you could be right.

Here's a quick pic of one of the infamous signs on Hua Hin Beach (my wife blurred out the police around the sign. As you can see it isn't very permanent and so they were able to just take it down after a day. Apparently there were more permanent signs put up in Bang Krood and Bang Saphan but they will be removed too and changed. Starting sometime in November there will be some new signs about smoking on the beach. Not exactly sure of the details but there will be a push against smoking and especially leaving the filters on the beach .

We live on the beach in Bang Saphan and haven't seen any signs here, but it is a big beach. Will look around and postThaihawk wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2017 7:44 pm . The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

This information is incorrect. I have just been along the tourist part of the beach in Bangsaphan as part of our weekly Trash Hero cleanup. There were no such signs in place.

I still believe a massive wind-up. I'm sure the police enjoy a good joke as much as the next person.

It's not a joke or a prank but it's also not too big of a deal either. They made these signs to put up along 8 beaches in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, put them up, and then the order came from the boss to take them down after about a day because the wording wasn't right. You might see something that looks similar but with different wording in the future but it shouldn't include anything about not drinking on the beach.

Well I've asked several policemen here, one a 'high ranker' and without exception they say they know nothing about them!

As of today (03 Nov/17) booze is flowing copiously at Hua Hin Beach (the Umbrellas @ Hilton area).
Mr Bee, the owner of the consession I'm lolling around at ~ sipping Leo yai ~ knows nothing about booze bans.

Just one more reason why I love living in Thailand ...

The fake pictures may be taken kinda funny in the light of the new beach rules. But the explanations are lame and overplayed. It's rather obvious that the 'hawk' is a pig flying backward.
