Getting around in hua hin

Hi everyone. So I am hoping to stay in the Khao Takiab area in november. What is the best way to get around Hua Hin? I have heard there are no taxis? Would like to visit the main tourist areas and the beaches.

Someone is telling you porkies. Plenty of transport available from the cheap and frequent Songtaew during the day through to more expensive minivans. Lots of options and price ranges. Check the forum as there is plenty of info.

There are none of the sort of metered taxis that you find in Bangkok which is perhaps what someone was telling you but there are plenty of private hire cars, tuk-tuks, motorbike taxis and other forms of public transport.
