I am delighted to report that our container has finally arrived safe and sound,
no damages either.
The German firm that took care of everything was an associate of DB Schenker by the name of Anterist & Schneider in Saarbruecken.
The container arrived within one hour of the eta, and the Thai crew of 8 did a professional job like their German colleagues, emptying the container and carrying our household stuff into the house.
The container had not even been opened or checked by Thai Customs.
So I could have brought my German World War 1 rifle.
LOLThe transport has cost us 5,200 Euros plus 28,500 Baht Customs duty.
By comparison - a Victorian infantry officer's sword that I imported straight from Britain cost 35,000 Baht in Customs duty!
