Seeing as how Bluport is meant to be part of a resort maybe the Cineplex there will have more soundtrack movies. Or maybe it will be of the"gold" or VIP variety with suitably high prices. Maybe as Homer suggested above, one for the masses and one for the sophisticated, where sophisticated means those with rather more money to spend on a movie.

Would be nice if we could get a so called Gold Class cinema. I love the luxury seats, service and ambiance that comes with this kind of cinema.

[quote="oakdale160"]they project 40,000 visitors a weekend day. About 4000 in and 4000 out every hour.
Thank god they have concreted all the back roads.[/quot

oakdale.
Was in HH in August and the place was surrounded by boarding.
4K in and 4K out an hour! Well I won't be one of them.
Theses "Malls" that have recently opened in HH are a waste of time IMHO.
Maybe OK for gullible tourists and the Chinese, but not my cup of tea.

Quite how they came up with those projected visitors figures is beyond me. Must have been
done by a Thai accountant, wanting to please his boss!
I wonder if farangs will be charged to enter?

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

I guess the accountant could have worked for TAT (Take a number and double it) but whatever it wil be a huge influx. If you are looking for leisurely shopping, my guess is that MV will be very quiet.

Who cares for our keyboard predictions. The companies involved are very successful companies and I doubt they spent untold millions on a whim. They will have done their homework their predictions I'm sure are not without substance. I guess they'll do very well and it won't matter one jot that there is inconvenience to the local farangs. Their income will come from the Thais not the farangs!

I didn't see a doors-open time for opening day so I messaged them on their Facebook page. They told me the opening hours are 10 AM to 10 PM.

I have been downtown a few times today and it is already chaotic on main road outside Bluport. Cars double parked in Soi 102.and traffic at a standstill. Doesn't anybody plan these things through when building such a large shopping mall. TIT mentality just defies logic.

You just have to live with it for a few days. After the grand opening everything settles down and it wont be close to as busy as it was. We just have to hope it will not end up as a ghost town like the Venezia!

That happens when they charge people to get in.

Slightly off topic and rhetorical why didn't they realise their mistake and correct it? Such a waste!

It's worth thinking about the catchment area for Bluport. There isn't really another place like it between Bkk and Phuket, There are huge adverts for it north oF petchaburi and I'm sure that's the same further South.

The Mall in Korat, which is comparable, has been a 'day out' destination for Thais from anywhere within approx. a 1.5 to 2 hour drive. I have met Thais from Pak Chong who regard going to the Mall as 'great fun'. In fairness that does have a kiddies water park, huge amusement area and an Olympic size pool and a soon to be ice rink, as well as a large exhibition hall (car shows, international volleyball, OTOP's etc.) Bluport might not boast all of those, but it does have similar.

I've just driven past Bluport on the way back from walking the dogs on the beach. It's like a scene from Invasion of the Zombies. The forecourt is packed, and they're crawling up the glass windows as if they can sense human blood on the other side.

Roads are quite manic for 9pm, and a hell of a lot of beachfront condo lights on tonight. Looks as though day 1 is going to be stupidly busy.
