Like many on this forum Anita, I don't know you or your family, and didn't know Paul - however in following this thread since late last year, offer my heartfelt condolences on your loss and truly hope those at fault are brought to justice.

I wish you the best.

My sympathies - hopefully the police will now see fit to take this case more seriously.

As a newcomer to this forum, and a future resident to HH, I hope this is a very isolated incident!
I think so, but it is a trait of many asian people to be calm and even tempered, and appear to be on a very long fuse; but then when they do lose their rag, go completely off the scale and become dangerous.

That however, does not excuse the brutality of this attack.

From the family's account, it appears that Paul was in dispute with tradesmen who had done some work on his home.

Whilst the full detail of the dispute is not in the public domain, I would suggest that when hiring such people it is probably wiser to pay them on a day-rate basis, and to pay them off and hire someone else if you're not happy with the work-rate or quality, to avoid the risk of getting into a dispute.
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly...
