From what I have seen on other sites it seems as if Fon and her boyfriend were released on bail, presumably in exchange for a large bribe, but not acquitted which would implied the case had come to trial. The bail is shocking enough but it doesn't necessarily mean the case has been dropped by the attorney-general's office.

Its getting to be a regular practice now in/around HH..
..kill a Farang, if you get caught by the Police, don't worry,..not alot will happen 'cos you are a Thai..!!
Not enuf evidence eh?..if the MIB practiced real police-work..& LOOKED FOR / NOTED & LOGGED all evidence
then it would maybe make it harder for the Baht to over-rule any clues found at the SOC.
Again my thought go out to Ray's friends and family who would have liked to see a fair trial. T.I.T.
(Also to Donald & his close ones).

Suspect in Briton's murder arrested

Post by PeteC »

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/nationa ... 16729.html

Tourist Police yesterday announced the arrest in Songkhla of 30-year-old Khomkrit Imnoey for his alleged role in the murder of English businessman Raymond John Hyde, 68, in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Hua Hin district in 2010.

Khomkrit allegedly conspired with his older sister Bunnak Hyde and her lover Thanakorn Budsaba to murder the Briton on July 26, 2010, disguising the crime as a robbery and break-in. While Bunnak and Thanakorn, who were arrested shortly after the murder, confessed to the crime, Khomkrit had been on the run until his arrest Tuesday in Songkhla's Chana district.

Khomkrit maintained his innocence in the murder, claiming he was delivering milk on the day and only went to the scene after his sister called him about what had happened. After learning that the court had issued an arrest warrant for him, he said he decided to flee because he was already wanted for the rape of minor.

Sadly no you couldn't make it up - but maybe this arrest does help to explain why the wife and her boyfriend were released on bail. Perhaps to lead the MIB to this guy.
It's taken a long time for sure, but if that is what has happened it does give me a bit more faith in the system.
Hopefully time will tell and justice will be done.

A sad story indeed, but I'm afraid to say that in Thailand, life is cheap.Get on the wrong side of someone, and a few thousand baht could see you being taken care of. Sad I know, but it is something you need to acknowledge if you want to live here.

The worst thing of all is the fact that the guilty parties will probably only serve 10 years or less at the most, if that.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

If they have money or an influential friend, they'll do no time. If they are poor or have no powerful friends, they will. Remember the attempted murder on Soi 88 a few years back that left a man paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of his life. The shooter and two others in the car (poor Thai men) are in prison. The Thai woman married to a rich farang who (admittedly) paid the hit men to do the deed has done no time to my knowledge, even after she was caught at the Cambodian border trying to flee with millions of baht.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
