Yep you do that. :thumb:
El Nino and La Nina are easy to predict, the outcomes are not, especially this far in advance.
Any decent meteorological outlet will tell you, any forecast over 5 days is just guesswork.

Mother of all storms early this morning in Bangkok.
.................................................................................
Rain blankets Bangkok, some roads flooded

https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/genera ... ds-flooded

A strong thunderstorm slammed into Bangkok before dawn on Wednesday, with floods reported in some areas across the city.

Traffic jams appeared likely as rush hour got under way and the rain continued into a second consecutive hour.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said rain was detected throughout the capital.

Among the hardest hit were areas along the Chao Phraya River. The BMA's disaster prevention and mitigation office said Min Buri district and next-door Nong Chok were hit by dowpours with rainfall of 89mm.

Sukhumvit Road in Bang Na district and some sections on Lat Phrao and Ramkhamhaeng areas were flooded, according to traffic radio stations.

The Meteorological Department said rain was possible in other areas of the country through Thursday, although the nation is in the middle of the so-called cool season, which is mostly. Temperatures will drop by 4-6°C later in the week, the weather forcast agency added.

Bit of a dogs breakfast weather wise this morning. Heavy overcast and raining in Bangkok, but only light winds. Huge high pressure system over China is causing surface winds to swing around to the south and west, maybe some rain for Hua Hin.

Unless it clears up during the day I guess tonight's moon show will be a write off:

Total lunar eclipse over Thailand on Jan 31

https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/genera ... -on-jan-31

This year's first total lunar eclipse will occur on Jan 31, a rare "Super Blue Blood Moon", and be visible nationwide weather permitting.

The moon will be full and the total phase of the eclipse will be seen, beginning in the eastern sky at 7.51pm and ending at 9.07pm, Saran Poshyachinda, executive director of National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand, said on Thursday.

It will also be visible in other Asian countries, North America, Australia and parts of Europe, Africa and South America.

Two total lunar eclipses will occur this year. The second, on July 27, will also be seen in Thailand, almost in its entirety.

During next week's eclipse the moon will appear larger than normal because it will be at perigee, its closest approach to Earth in a single orbit, Mr Saran said.

It will also be the second full moon of the month, known as a Blue Moon, and the fully eclipsed moon is likely to take on a reddish colour, known as a Blood Moon - making it a Super Blue Blood Moon, according to astronomy websites.

It’s been putting on a stunning show tonight hasn’t it? I’m actually going to utter that overused word - 'awesome!'. And good to hear it might bring us good luck too 😊

Yes, my other half was out there shaking her purse as well.
I suppose if she loses the lottery tomorrow (more than likely) there will be some vague excuse as to why - or probably no mention of the fact at all.

Well it's been a dull and dreary day here today in Nakhon Pathom. It reminded me of British weather - no sun, and spits and spats of rain/drizzle. It's what Mr.VS would call a 'dreich' day.

Yes as the day turned into evening, the rain got harder and it’s been going like this for more than 3 hours now - just what the garden needed.

It's now midnight on Soi 80 and it is raining harder than ever. Light rain all afternoon, heavier rain in the evening and very heavy now.

Wunderground says that it is partially cloudy with no rain and AccuWeather isn't much better.

The Thai met.office satellite pictures show.a green rain cell overhead. Nowhere else in Thailand.

Very odd weather this year !!

I love the rain here. On a big covered patio you can just watch the rain hit the pool and the grass (thanking the weather gods as Dannie Boy says), and turning the pork belly on the BBQ with a beer in the other hand. But don't forget to offer up a prayer for the poor living on the banks of the Chao Praya if it's monsoon time.

Looks like more or the same today, looking at the sky at 0815h, but NOAA Weather shows all the weather moving away southwards by midday. Maybe still a lot of high cloud cover until the evening I'm guessing.

They might have got the timing wrong, but the forecast of heavy rain this morning finally arrived where we live about 10.00 am.
