Well seeing that storm video, reminded me of a visit I had to Phuket and for
3 day had to grab food and drink supplies in the morning as the afternoons were stormy.
Hope the reservoirs get full enough for the next dry spell.

Re: A New Word
Is covidiot, another new word. I see a few every day, but I am told that I am just being a red neck senior, thinking that way. I guess non binary is some one with neither balls or p*ss. Must be pretty sad to be that person. I thought with the LQBTQ... group, there would be o=enough choices, but I gu...

Re: Astronomy, cosmology and space thread
It was great to see the helicopter flying on Mars and I hope it lasts for a while and gives us some good photos and videos of the area. I wonder how the Chinese rover arrived on the planet, air bags or a similar landing that the last 2 rovers from NASA did? Did I hear that Russia tried and failed at...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
My old friend is 82 and is planning to come to Thailand in October for the Winter. I hope he is able to get there with his 2 Pfizer shots, and get to Hua Hin, without any quarantine. His son was there until May 12th, and said that it sure was quiet for his stay. He spent 16 days in Vancouver BC in q...

Re: Beach Walks - Now & Then
So are you allowed to walk the beach these days? Any changes since 2018? I seen a car dash camera trip through Hua Hin and see that the high speed rail was coming along quite well. Lots of places closed and the city looking a bit ghostly with the pandemic. I hope things will look better when we all ...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
As much as I enjoy Hua Hin, I will be staying in Canada until next year.
Next year I may spend most my visit in Vietnam as my family wants
me to see their sights, and I want to save money. Thailand is not as cheap
anymore anyway. Hope you Hinners have a great Fall and Winter.

Re: Electric Cars
These vehicles are not practical in most of Canada, as even in Alberta, it is 300 kms between Calgary to Edmonton. If I was to drive to Vancouver B.C. 900 kms I would have to charge up to full twice, and find a charger in Vancouver on arrival. I would rather use a gasoline or at best a hybrid vehicl...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
I read that somewhere a guy only lasted 13 days of quarantine and jumped to his death. I was able to last 21 days in my basement, and was happy to see outside for sure after that, but with a laptop and phone, my sanity was still mostly intact. Hope that those of you who have to self isolate, will re...

Navy needs new leadership, and so glad the government basically is saying the same, by suspending
the order for now. They can now suspend the leader of the Navy until he gets replaced.
My opinion anyway.

Better restock for 2 months, seems like the great government now thinks
alcohol is a great evil and needs to be closed 24 seven. Good luck drinkers.

with all the sad news of the Covid virus, did you hear of the Alton Illinois
mayor's wife getting arrested for being at a party at a tavern. Must have been a big loss of
face for the Mayor, when his wife did not listen to his advice.

Well the Virus is affecting the USA in a big way. Those Americans seem to need to do things in a big way I guess, I see that MAGA thing and growl, as America will be the way it will be and does not have to be Great again, as times are not like they were. This virus has killed a lot of people, but on...

I find it amazing thazt there is only 1 official death from the virus, me thinks the Government is fibbing a lot on this stat. I just read that the UK is limiting their people to a crxowd of 2, and yet seeing the pictures of people in Bangkok at the MuChit BTS station a huge crowd leaving for up cou...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
I should add, that I left Bangkok March 14th at 5PM. It took longer to get through to the gate at
Bangkok, Taipei and Vancouver especially at Vancouver, as I had to change airlines, the baggage transfer in
Vancouver took nearly an hour, very inefficient system.

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)
I believe that Canada will soon have a lot more cases of the virus. I flew from Bangkok to Taipei Taiwan, then on to Vancouver BC Canada, and finally to Calgary Alberta. At Bangkok almost all the Asians boarding my EVA flight were wearing their masks, while some older travellers including me were al...
