I think that Trump is also a good example of rich getting richer.
I can only hope that someday a democratic government will get established in
Thailand and the military can go back to being just military, just will not hold my
breath waiting for this to happen.

HHtel, Thanks for the video, I found the last one with the elephant, entertaining, and very happy that I was not in the back of the unfortunate pickup. Seeing some video of European dash cams especially from Russia, was a bit of a shock as well. I feel lucky that I have not seen more of those crashe...

Yup I went to Hua Hin bar last year 17. and found the staff at that bar was friendly
and I found parking okay as well.

Glad to hear that the weather provided some rain, as the local dams could likely use the
water for the dry period later in Winter. One month til I arrive in good old HH. Hope the
weather patterns are drier after that at least for a few weeks.

2 AM yes likely dozed off. I ride with Sombat Tour buses, during the day as the drivers look fairly
awake, and I have not had a problem with the Bangkok to Hua Hin portion of their route.
My Thai family use the company quite often as well and trust them way more then the mini
bus services.

I agree with BB that 10,000 baht fines should be the normal fine or higher, and take the vehicles of the repeat offenders, would also help them to see the light. This 200 or 400 baht tea money is not making a single one of the offenders change their ways. The police force has to change their attitud...

Another year, another Songkran, more people owning cars, more young inexperienced drivers,
driving drunk, high, or both, and yes texting or getting a selfie, and here the numbers are
up again. Very sad, but I do not expect to see any changes at least for a few more years.
