Re: Global House store Hua Hin opening?
Does anyone know when the new Global House store just outside Hua Hin is opening? It looked as though they were quite far on and may have started stocking it but it didn't look open to the public yet. It is out of town heading towards Pranburi not too far before the Tesco store near the army camp. ...

Yes indeed. No worries now. Those posted notices are going to sort this situation out and never again will a weapon cross the threshold.

I have had 6 suits made. Mike tailors is by a country mile the best. You get what you pay for.

Re: Booze banned during Loy Krathong festival
There was a BIG fight out at Khao Tao on Wednesday evening about 11'ish that was well fueled with all the booze. Many people involved, chair throwing, all the good stuff!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving 2015
There were plenty of turkeys in Villa Market yesterday... Have a look again. Though it's in a freezer saying 'turkey' it's actually duck. This is second hand information I'm offering so I might be wrong. They are Butterball turkeys and a 12 lb. bird is 4100 Baht! Well over $100 bucks USD. I had clu...

Re: Obtaining proof of residence letter for Thai driving license renewal
I just got such a letter from immigration - 500 Bt. I've never heard of anyone in HH getting that letter from the police station. If you got to immigration - and I'm pretty sure you will need to do just that - you no longer go into the main office to have this done. As you face the office there is a...

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
As per usual here in Thailand people are looking at the surface and if it looks good then all is well.
Dig down into that sand a few inches and take a look.

Re: Thailand near bottom for English proficiency
If your "bubble" is Hua Hin, Phuket, Pattaya, Sukhumvit Road (BKK), or Chiang Mai then you really are in a bubble as far as English proficiency in terms of the abilities of the Thai people as one will find lots of English being spoken in those areas and there is not a lot of need for a far...

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
If I had a holiday planned for HH for this high season or had family or friends coming to visit and they were wanting to go to the beach I would certainly be rethinking that idea. At least the beaches anywhere near HH. I said "rethinking" but that is too generous. I would be cancelling and...

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
^ are they putting containment booms in place? Perhaps be a bit pro active to keep it from coming ashore? I doubt it. They will scrape up the oil and dirty sand and debris that they can easily see and say all is well but that oil is still in the sand beneath the surface and it is still in the water ...
