Re: Travel: Asia & Further Afield

1990 to 2012, I probably had more hire cars than the rest of the forum combined - never heard of that one, and we used all of the top companies e.g. Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc., etc.

Re: Khao Tao Lake

Amazing Thailand. Not for the first time on this carbuncle, it seems somebody has cocked up big time. I think it was caller referring to the very grand entrance. They are demolishing it!!! They have a very small pneumatic drill up there removing the concrete which used to sit on the wired structure ...

Re: Thailand News Summary

Thais love free money, and the easiest way to get it is being a law enforcer. I don't think the problem will ever be resolved.

That was certainly the case with the old mini-buses, but the larger buses these days have luggage capacity. Don't they use it?

Would anybody notice if somebody stopped the cars in Hua Hin? We'd probably just assume Somchai had stopped, and gone to buy his somtam.

Re: Best bus operator to get to Sukhumvit?

I use similar buses these days a lot for travelling to football from Ratchaburi. Apart from their length, and no onboard toilet (yuk) you don't really notice the difference to a full sized bus. The buses I use are 19 seaters with a 2/1 seat configuration. If I can be comfortable, anybody should be OK.

If this isn't fake news, I find it obscene. Doesn't it break some FIFA rules?

Re: Replacement knee surgery

Dr. Suthat should sort it. Or at least, provide the best solutions. berlinmichael can then choose the best solution within his budget.

Re: Replacement knee surgery

Yes, I didn't comment until 404cameljockey mentioned an operation similar to my son's op. However, the advice to visit Dr. Suthat is probably the best berlinmichael will receive. He isn't expensive, and will give an informed decision on what is needed. However, it is most likely a MRI will be requir...

He was in hospital 3 nights. He will be on crutches for 8/9 weeks in total, gradually putting more pressure on the foot. Obviously a lot of painful 'self' physio along the way. He should be back in full action after 3 months, and I've seen nothing to doubt that. He feels he could manage without the ...

My son asked me to download The Favourite (2018). He asked me to download for the director, as opposed to the movie. Watched it last night - a strange movie, but quite funny at times. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

Road House (2024). As a big fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, I was always going to enjoy this a little . Without him, I'm not entirely sure. Good fight scenes, it's a pretty mindless, easy watch. Something to stick on as a plan b. I've not seen the original Patrick Swayze movie of 1989, so no comparison. Co...
