I need to wire some money from Thailand to my bank in the U.S Transferwise is out for transfers out of Thailand. I assume I can do it from my Kasikorn bank using swift but I have read there are restrictions like not by farang unless it is with work permit. Limit on amount? Does anyone have direct ex...

Re: International money transfers

Can't use it to transfer from Thailand. I have transferred money from my Kasikorn account to the U.K. and found their exchange rates to be pretty good compared to sending from the U.K. Eastward. I've just used TW to transfer to Thailand for the second time and found the service excellent. Good rate...

Re: Proposal to make health insurance mandatory for long-stay visas

After going through the nightmare of getting the US Veterans Administration straightened out over the past 2+ years and then getting BKK hospital in BKK to do direct billing for all services, I completely agree with the idea of making all foreigners have health insurance. I had BKK hospital doing t...

Re: seeking the good oil for massages

I use a blend of Grapeseed and coconut oil. Sometimes I open a vitamin E capsule and add that in. Sometimes a drop or two of scent. It washes off faster than the cheap mineral oil used in most shops.

Re: Are expats falling out of love with the Land of Smiles?

I have started spending more time back in the old country. Many of the same issues mentioned above. Been here 12 years but I never burned bridges. Now I am at 5 months here and 7 back there. I'm glad I didn't buy a house here. I did buy a car and too much other "stuff" I use the retirement...

Re: New Hua Hin Songthaew Service

Anyone used the white songthaew's recently? Are the routes the same as posted years ago. I think I saw one going down soi 94 the other day. I would sure like an alternative to get from soi 94 area to downtown and back to avoid parking and danger.

Re: Some Bangkok Embassies to stop Certification of Income Letters

My opinion is that if you don't have 800k to leave in a Thai bank for 3 months what the hell are you doing living here. In my opinion leaving 800K in a Thai bank is a poor use on my hard earned money. I have it but why tie it up in a Thai bank if I don't have to. Many better ways to invest it. I wi...

I use a device that goes between my cable connection and my PC. It is a tuner. They have various models.

They sell on amazon and I have seen in shops at Hua Hin shopping mall upstairs a (along time ago).
