Re: Great series INDIAN OCEAN with Simon Reeve
The last series he taught us on how endangered sharks are at the moment. The locals are fishing them just for their fins, to send to china for soup. Apparently the sea will die without them. I am going to post another topic on this. Forum members please do not eat Sharks fin soup! Shark f...

Re: Thai law and legal fatherhood of children outside wedloc
I scratch my head at all this if the child was born under his/her Father's surname and has that Thai birth certificate name, Thai passport, foreign passport name etc. Pete

Re: Poll: Thailand growing more unhappy as cost of living so
Not worth a new thread so putting it here. Seems to me we are getting quite a lot of big ticket items for sale in our Classified section. Probably much more out there that gets advertised elsewhere. I wonder if an exodus of sorts has begun for the various reasons we've talked about on many different...

Re: Thai language word game
I think good to mention that kee simply means "waste". As example you can have "kee who" meaning ear wax, kee chamook meaning nose dirt, and I guess even kee sadoo meaning lint in your navel. Pete

You may have to settle for strips cut from a foam food take-away box. Pete

Re: Thai language word game
Kee tak. Never heard that one. I suggest to use only tong ruang ท้องร่วง (diarrhea) in the pharmacy. Kendo do you have any idea how you spell that in Thai? And if not, how it is pronounced: tek, taak or taek? prcscct do you mean khaao nieow ( ข้าวเหนียว )? Yes, that's it. If you say it fast it stil...

Re: Word Game
All learning books, language schools and dictionaries have their own transliteration system. As soon as you can read Thai that obstacle is dealt with. Last one from me: kee nieow ( ขี้เหนียว ) = to be stingy If you have time Roel, write the kee-niell meaning sticky rice so we can see the comparison...

Re: When Soi Dog's Attack...
Thai dogs are corrupt just like many things here. If you're dealing with the same pack all the time a pocket full of dog biscuits may be better than the stick/spray. Of course they'll come to expect a treat and god help you if you forget them one day. Pete

Yes, overnight it has gone to 31.0 USD and 50.0087 GBP. I haven't seen it at that level in a long time. Pete

Re: 2012 F1 Pool
Four races in now and four different winners. I thought wow, are we on our way to a season record with the most different winners? Probably not per the below, but possible. I couldn't find a stat concerning the most different winners consecutively starting with race #1. If someone can find that one ...

Re: 2012 F1 Pool
Vettel is back, at least for this one race, but I have a feeling we'll see more of him. Vital Spark and I picked him to win. Vital Spark, Terry and I had the best race with 8.3 points. RZR has taken over first place followed by Terry, Pitsch and JJ Bones. Terry gets the prize for advancing the most ...

Where are the clear seas?
Just a brief infotorial which can be added to as other places are discovered. Probably surprising to some that the below is at the Sattahip Thai Navy base. Facilities and restaurant right near the shoreline, and a variety of tropical fish nibbling at your toes. They take real good care of the enviro...
