Re: Freezer Repair

My electrician, Buss, works on commercial refrigeration / freezer systems. Not sure if he does home systems but assume he does. He speaks good English and his prices are reasonable. His number is 082-004-8532.

Re: What happen to Bluport ?

I find it a confusing place to walk around. Not well organised. I agree ! And it certainly doesn’t help that for some unfathomable reason they chose to number the floors in a very strange way. The bottom floor (the one above the basement) is labeled G for ground, I guess. The next one up, normally ...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

My extension of stay expires on 22 April and for the last fifteen years or so I've always renewed in early April to aviod the Sonkgran breaks. We are visiting the UK on the 12th of March and won't be returning until May, so I'll need to obtain a further extension before our departure, to aviod the ...

Re: Bang Sue to Hua Hin Dual Track Trains

I live in Hua Hin and like you, I’m very curious about updates of when the new Hua Hin Train Station and elevated dual tracks will be in-service. I'm pretty sure that the last official sounding update I saw indicated mid-January, but that is obviously not happening. I’ve recently walked all around t...

Re: Married foreign couple 800k on deposit

Probably the best bet is to call into the Immigration Office and ask them? Three years ago my brother and his wife entered Thailand on 30 day “tourist visa’s”, then decided to apply for Non-Immigrant O visas (based on retirement). Both were over 50 years old. We went to Hua Hin Immigration to confi...

Re: Have 'other banks' ATMs started charging a fee?

I'm usually charged when I use a K-bank (or other) ATM in a different province than where the account was opened. Same for me. One time I had to make a sizable deposit of cash, forgot to stop at my Hua Hin Bangkok Bank when I started my drive to Bangkok. I remembered when I was driving though Samut...

Re: Have 'other banks' ATMs started charging a fee?

I used my Bangkok Bank debit card in a krunsri atm today, no extra charge. That matches my experience with krungsri card in Bangkok bank ATM. No charge. My guess is that certain banks have entered into and maintained reciprocal agreements with each other to allow the other banks customers to use th...

VincentD, obviously it's your choice. Whilst it's a pain in the butt, and seems OTT, I've done it several times and it works very well. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: They are making it very difficult to get a 326฿ refund. It must have taken me 15 minutes to get past the rob...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

I’ve had a Non-OA which I’ve been doing annual renewals for the last 10 years. Several years ago they started requiring Health insurance from a Thai insurance company to process Non-OA renewals, with minimum coverage of 400,000 baht inpatient coverage and 40,000 baht outpatient coverage. The last 3 ...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

According to ThaiMet.... the Daily breakdown figures for November totals up to 131.4 mm. This is against a November average of 103 mm (according to weather and climate.com) That would suggest that we had 28% percent more rain than the HH average for November. I'm sure there are a couple of people o...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

We’re certainly getting more than our share of rain the past few days and at the moment it’s coming down fairly heavily!! It sure seems like we are getting a LOT more rain than normal, but I wonder how true that is. Does anyone have quick access to the statistics of how this rainy season compares t...

Re: Start of the Jellyfish Season

A hotel in Koh Samui offered first aid lessons on how to treat and prevent box jellyfish stings in March. Apart from staying out of the water, how do you prevent a jellyfish sting? 12 years ago I was stung on my knee, 100 meters off the beach at Soi 75/1 while kitesurfing. I had observed the more s...

When entering Market Village from the car park, 2nd floor entrance near Homepro, the key maker located in the entrance can probably make your key.
