Re: Is Hua Hin safe anymore?
The ratio of good vs bad things happening after midnight reduces rapidly in any city. Personally I'm happier out late in Hua Hin than Melbourne

Re: Looking for a bar...
Hi teddyboom, I wish you luck and please let me know if you find one. The problem may be the time of year that you are visiting - May. This is typically part of the low season in LOS where there are generally less customers...and as a consequence, less services available. The pool tables at least sh...

Re: Coco Beach Club
Prices were high, but the quality was excellent. So here is the question --Is there a big demand for high quality/high priced food. I suggest you go to the Soi 88 night mkt and see the multitude of expats happily eating their 100b dinners Love the night market....will be going there in early April ...

Re: Hua Hin Beach - experience
Thanks for the replies. I was there July last year enjoying the umbrellas. Stayed at the Hilton, went out their beach stairs and about 100(?) metres along to the right. Probably about 5 sets of umbrella/beer/food vendors back then.

Hua Hin Beach - experience
Hi all, I'm in Hua Hin early April for 5 days and planning among other things spending a good many hours under the umbrellas on the beach. In the past I've gone down past the Hilton exit and turned right and taken the second set of chairs....much to the consternation of the first set. Any recommenda...

I can relate to what you are saying but in a different way. I love the weekends...even more than when I was working, the reason is that they are now totally free of chores. When I was working the weekend was for mowing the lawn, odd jobs, shopping...they were so busy. I make sure I get all this done...

I've been 3 times. Once on my own 2011, once with my family and parents 2014, and once with my and another family 2016. Great times all three. Heading back again at the start of April (on my own). Can't wait.
Maria, you've gotta go!

If the festival is any good...no alcohol required. Unfortunately they're often not that good.

I was pleasantly surprised at the Kolkata zoo a few years ago. 25 Rupee entry fee (less than a dollar) for foreigners and locals alike. Mind you, I think 25 rupees was about the right price for the experience.

Movenpick took over a hotel in Orchard Road Singapore that I stay at a while ago. They seem to run a good outfit.

I'm visiting first week of April. Will I have to stock up the bar fridge or are there no alcohol free days then?

Hi from Aus
Hello forum members, I've visited Hua Hin 3 times now and am returning early April for 5 days. I was looking into the closure of a restaurant due to beach encroachment and started worrying about the hotel I had booked...and stumbled across this forum.
Lots of good info here,
Cheers,
Stu
