Re: Why do YOU think the Thais are such bad drivers?
Deadly consequences of doing things the 'Thai way' .......................... The Thai word for this is mak ngai. It may be translated roughly to English as the predisposition to take an easy way out without regard to consequences or others (and often to oneself as well). Simply put, it's a "m...

Re: Auto Electrician/Tester
I've swapped the single Din CD player in my car for a double Din Sony DVD player with Tom Tom GPS module. I've added a relay to save running a wire to my handbrake connector other than that I used the existing connections. Not sure that I follow your reasoning with this? What has a relay got to do ...

Re: Auto Electrician/Tester
I would think starting the engine and letting it run until up to normal temperature, about 15 minutes, every 2-3 days would keep the battery in good shape. Anyone think that idea is not beneficial? Pete  Does more damage to an engine than a battery will ever cost. It takes around 10 to 15 K...

Re: Auto Electrician/Tester
The car has only been used a couple of times per month..............and it's less than 2.5 years old Both of those points could well mean that the battery is finished. What is the previous history? Do you just use it for a short run after standing around for 2 weeks? If you can take it out of the c...

Re: Travelling to Chile
I know this is an old thread, but for close on 50 years I have been intrigued with this place. It all started with a stint in the merchant navy, where the old salts used to speak about Valparaiso. I doubt that I will ever make it there now. :( Some photos at the link. Valparaiso’s faded grandeur sti...

Yeah, right. I hope that the construction "engineer" could count better than the "look at me" types standing on it!But visiting the glass skywalk, tourists have to abide by the safety rules strictly as the skywalk could accommodate only 20 persons at once.

Re: Soi 102 Vacating?
Ok, that was also mentioned previously. But is that where the problems is? The water may just overflow the klong and run right back where it came from. It has also been claimed that the water is pumped to Soi 112.Big Boy wrote:It gets pumped to the drainage canal, which runs alongside the railroad.

There was a discussion about the flooding in Soi 102 here: http://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=30465&p=395214&hilit=pumps+soi+102#p395214 I looked at the pump house just after this and from memory there are 3 pumps, all of mounted down low in what appears to be waterproof hous...
