What is that large brown construction to the right of it (its been a while since I've been to HH beach)? If that has anything to do with the Sofitel Paleo has probably been muscled out. Shame, used to be a great little spot - Hua Hin is now officially devoid of a beach bar.

Chumphon town itself is a bit of a hole but there are plenty of nice beach areas north and south of it.

I'd consider them one and the same, the reds are responsible for putting Pua Thai into power and PT are a pack of cronies and sycophants of the Shinawatra family (which will soon own this country once the constitution is changed in their favour).

Ditto, did it in 2005, Kawthong to Great Torres Island - hundreds of uninhabited islands in the Mergui Archipelago, some the size of Phuket, the place has potential of monumental proportions. I hope it opens up before I get too old to enjoy some of it!

You would likely not be allowed to leave the country with your children, as they are Thai citizens and minors. Would this be the case if they were leaving on a non-Thai passport?
