Is there anywhere in Hua Hin to buy a mobile phone blocker ?
Will be in Bangkok for a couple of days and perhaps it would be better to try Pantip Plaza or 4th floor MBK .

Re: Police checkpoints in Hua Hin
:agree: A farang gets killed/injured, it's reported everywhere - bad publicity. How many times do we hear of a Farang struggling because they were injured riding a motorcycle they weren't insured to ride in the first place. Yes, Thais do it every day, but it doesn't attract the same bad publicity. I...

Re: RE: Re: Shipping a laptop overseas
What batteries are we talking about here , power or motherboard battery ? Power batteries are no problem other than you may need a T5 screwdriver to open the retaining cover and usually the whole battery will come out , no problems whatever with static electricity . Mother board batteries are a dif...

Re: Shipping a laptop overseas
Meant to add it does depend on battery type , see below . Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous items for airmail, therefore, when shipping any device that uses a lithium battery (such as laptops, mobile phones, game consoles, digital cameras, etc.), the battery should be removed prior to sh...

Re: Some Thais' perception of foreigners
First off, it depends on where this 'survey' has been conducted. In the lesser known unis, the students tend to follow local protocol and tend to go with the flow, i.e. find an average station in life like running a coffee shop or perhaps selling food. Very few will advance beyond the supermarket ch...

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)
not a "never had a problem" story, more a "that was nice of the police" story my husband has a slight disability, he has a pronounced limp and wears a (visible) leg brace from the knee down. Many times at the crossing at Market Village and the other big crossing that leads to Th...

Re: Revolutionary Road Crossing for Hua Hin
Driving in Thailand is a bit like playing roulette , red lights don't necessarily mean stop as green lights don't mean go, also never understood why they paint them zebra crossings on the roads, I never seen anyone taking notice of them even when pedestrians are on them . On the bright side it keep...

Re: UK and Thailand to hold joint military excercise
Thailand is already a major user/buyer of American hardware as is the UK . Come on now, there is a big difference between buying stuff and being able to use it. Putting the UK and Thai military in the same sentence in this regard is laughable. Read whole sentence . Did not state anything regarding ...

Re: UK and Thailand to hold joint military excercise
That's going to be a logistical nightmare for UK forces, and very expensive. They must be hoping for a very big order out of it. Depends on size of exercise and size troop movement . Does not quite stack up as British troops already undertake training of this type , Marines and Gurkhas etc . are re...
