Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?
change requires education by people who are educated and it must start in the first year of school. punishment is a poor educator, it's breeds contempt and violence. until logic and critical thinking are taught here nothing will change. in the meantime we all have to look out for our own behinds. :...

Re: Survey: Thailand 'among top 20 most dangerous countries' to visit
Naturally you'll expect the ministry of utter lunacy to call it all bull ... Foreign Ministry: Info on Thailand’s ranking as among 20 most dangerous ‘outdated’ THAILAND’S foreign ministry on Saturday denounced World Economic Forum (WEF) report that listed the kingdom as one of the 20 most dangerous...

Re: Survey: Thailand 'among top 20 most dangerous countries' to visit
Actually, Thailand is a dangerous place to visit really.....for the unsuspecting, regardless of these sort of silly reports. There are so many ways to come into harm's way here , especially for those holiday hero types that want to blow off steam but forget where they are. Safety first here, rememb...

Re: Thailand to introduce compulsory travel insurance/tourist tax
Compulsory travel health insurance merely forces people to do what they should be doing. Why should the Thai taxpayer pick up the bill for irresponsible foreigners. This is obviously unfortunate for people with health problems who can't get insurance. Perhaps this could be got round by them providi...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
^Thanks for taking the time to post that Nereus and thanks for the weblink, that was informative. So it looks like both the Hitachi water pumps and Mitsubishi water pumps have problems and I guess I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I think I will just stick with the Hitachi ...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
The system you have described seems pretty normal with the type pump you identified. One other thing that could be a possible cause of your problems is a faulty non-return valve (if fitted). Some household water supply systems are installed here with a second supply line to the house direct from th...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
What is strange is that I have found that if I open 2 taps at the same time the water flow stabilizes and becomes constant and consistent(no surging) There is nothing strange about it! With 2 taps open there is no pressure build up to operate the pressure switch, just a continuous flow of water. I ...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply.. and pump hydraulics
It could have been helpful providing some technical information. Else, it's like trying to catch a black cat in a dark room, and maybe in the wrong house. I reckon I know what the likely cause is, but to suggest a reasonable/simple fix need to know more. Which/what 'Hitachi' pump do you have? http:...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
I would definitely try priming the pump to remove air. compressors_0018_Layer_4.jpg Turn of power, fill small pump tank with water, screw cap on, start pump vent off air through cap loosening slightly, you may have to stop the fill pump and vent a few times, eventually the air should no longer vent...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
....also check every joint you can to make sure air is not getting into your line between pump and house, or between tank and pump. We had that problem and the water spit like an angry snake and screwed up the operation of the heater. Once the air leak discovered and fixed, all was fine. The proble...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply
"Name Taken' a few things to check and questions: Sounds crazy but is the water supply, connected to the showers inlet not outlet? They can be crossed. The shower is hooked up correstly Is the household water pump fed from a external water tank, if yes is the tank above or below ground? Yes, I...
