Lazada becoming unresponsive

Lately I've noticed a disturbing trend. I've had several orders for phones, printer supplies and things that get cancelled or refunded instead of delivered. I'm now waiting on the third phone I've ordered since the end of December (same phone, just never gets delivered). I was just notified yesterda...

Re: Life Insurance Sold by Bank

Krungsri and another bank I can't recall have both successfully sold this load of manure to my wife and a friend. They both thought they got a good deal and I couldn't talk my wife out of it. These aren't as bad as the ones I'm constantly being bombarded with online with American banks.......welcome...

Re: The scourge of Facebook

I was flipping through this to get an idea of the content......my Facebook looks more like a bunch of sites that are not individuals, but groups.....going through my content for the day only saw about five from people I know.....and they are daily photo posters.....I'm getting ready to dump FB I thi...

Good afternoon. I am Lou@caltel.com

On your Tribute a couple of questions:

Is it a 2.3 or 3.0?

Color of Upholstery?

Location for viewing?

Thanks - Please email me at lou@caltel.com. We live in Cha Am.

Re: Buying a Car

One of my favorite things to do is car shopping......on average when I was working I bought a new car every eight months. On for me and one for the Mrs. In the 12 years we've been retired I'm down to a Ford Escape in 2006 and a Mazda 2 sedan in 2016. The Mazda 2 was the base model but still well equ...

Re: Some Bangkok Embassies to stop Certification of Income Letters

I would love to know what the resident population of expats in Thailand is, by country. I have no idea of how many expats are really living here, where they live and where they came from. The last statistics I see are from 2010 and no doubt quite out of date.

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

Wow......glad I have no inclination to drive in Malaysia! These topics about driving accidents and deaths in Thailand are becoming repetitive though. How many times do we have to all suggest somone do something about teaching, enforcement and how we do things "at home"......no-one is liste...

Re: Foreign friendly Bank Hua Hin

OMG..... I forgot the worst thing and all Thai banks seem to do it. You have to be careful about where, exactly, you open your account. Many times we have run into situations where we need to do something and find that if we aren't at our local branch it gets quite complicated. Somethings, like upda...

Re: Foreign friendly Bank Hua Hin

I wouldn't normally make a recommendation but since this is a small thread and newcomers may read it here goes. We have been here twelve years. My wife (Thai), in particular, uses different banks for different things......not sure exactly why. Some of it depends on location of the branches if there ...

Re: Place for a really good burger

There is no range. It's a simple burger, with cheese although I don't take cheese with mine. Big enough to fill me up and comes with some good crispy fries. The meat is well cooked and very juicy. Standard lettuce, tomato etc. What I like about them is the meat is good quality, probably 1/3 lb, not ...

I've been to Engine House several times for their burger. I liked every one. Beats the heck out of BK or MCD.

American and English breakfasts, as far as I can see are not the same animal. American breakfasts do not include beans for one thing.

Re: The demise of Hua Hin's computer shops

Advice has a newer shop in Cha Am south of the traffic light on the sea side of the street. Big orange frontage so it's easy to see. Also there is a local shop without much in the way of signage or storefront but they have helped me on more than one occasion. Just across from Rugthai Pharmacy on the...

Re: Chinese tourists (and their habits) surge into Thailand

Oakdale160.....your comments don't reflect what I have read on Thai Visa......from their point of view (and sorry, don't read much else locally) Chinese are a bunch of pigs needing behavior training. Also, if the past few months are any indication the tourist industry is in dire straights here in th...
