airborn We always take our boy to Dr. Samet on Petchkasem Road, opposite Soi 80. A list of Hospitals and Doctors in and around Hua Hin is here http://www.expathuahin.com/hospitals-huahin.php I second that and judging from how many people use him, I think I'll continue taking my little ones there as...

If it was my child, the cameraman would have got more than a spanner and he certainly would not get any compensation out of me. But hey, who can blame the police for enforcing it because after all, he is a super rich farang................ Sorry guys but this is Thailand and we all know better than ...

Hi SJ In your one post you mentioned getting the visa in your own home country but that it could be extended in any of the neighbouring countries without proof of funds? That's exactly what I tried to do five months ago in KL and was turned away because I could show proof of funds or 40,000 per mont...

Takiap, Actually SJ is spot on - he did say 'Royal Thai Consulate in your own country ', although I am confused about what you say about KL - I have obtained a multi entry non immigrant O visa (also Thai wife and two kids) without having to show funds in a Thai bank, twice; first time in 2007, seco...

Although I don't have to deal with such situations, I often tend to believe that while most of us feel they dislike us and that they're trying to make our lives difficult, it's rather to do with them having a different mentallity. Don't forget, the Thais are also faced with these self same type of p...

Taking it you do your border runs fro HH using the minibus service at 2000 per shot, ten runs, if they were allowed would cost you 20,000 baht. Maximum overstay fine is also 20,000 as far as I know so really, you're just as well forgetting all about runs and just pay the fine once a year.....lol Ah....

You can take a VIP bus from the new bus station but you need to book the day before. I usually wait for a bus at the clock tower (1st or 2nd class) which comes past quite often. I always take the one which comes past at about 23h00 and that gets you to Ranong at about 05h00 in the morning. Immigrati...

Thanks to all who suggested Avast. I made the switch and I couldn't be happier. Since I installed it, it has located a virus in my music library and there have been about six occasions when it's detected a virus while surfing. By the way, it was while my wife's younger brother was watch Thai TV onli...

Well done on obtaining your visa. As you know, when I went to KL they wanted to see proof of income. I have since insured that income goes into my Thai bank as they said a bank statement would be fine. However, when I asked at HH immigration about extending that visa when I get it, they said they're...

If the area is within 10 meters of your house, just get a few Thai painters in to paint the walls of your house. They mess enough paint to make sure you paving will be sealed for years.........lol. When the sand wash starts going black, you can gett it looking as good as new so not really a problem....
