Re: First Aid Training
I can train you to be an emergency first responder in first aid, secondary care, care for children and use of AED's. Any dive school can do the same. Costs around the 5- 6000 Baht and certifies you for two years. I'm coming up next month for a visit if anyone was interested. if you are not that both...

Re: Recommend a Lawyer???
To all who replied: "THANK YOU" FYI: My contract expires 01/10 and agent has told me 30-days+ to get refund. My condo has no damage at all and my rent has been paid on-time every month. The deposit is not chump change, it is - 86,000. (The contract states deposit to be paid upon expiry.) ...

Re: Recommend a Lawyer???
Hi Dunc, It doesn't happen often, we haven't had any deposit withheld without a good reason. Also never happened to me in 8 years of renting. When you visiting HH again, be good to get a beer! Cheers, JW I'm hoping to get away for a long weekend soon JW. HH would make a nice off island jaunt. It wo...

Re: Recommend a Lawyer???
No more info OP? I was hoping for some more insight into your situation as I have had a similar situation myself and learnt from it- so (if you haven't broken the terms of the contract or done anything else silly, which i am sure you haven't) why is the landlord refusing to return your deposit? Bec...

Re: Recommend a Lawyer???
As stated above. getting a lawyer involved will cost you more than the deposit and you are not guaranteed to win any way. Put it down to lesson learned and move on.

Re: Hua Hin Property agents and commissions
No gripe at all. I am just at the stage where I am sick of paying out money to receive spam. I would turn your argument around. I am willing to pay anyone 5% commission for finding me a buyer which is 1.75 Million Baht. You would rather not list it for the commission and take 4000 baht ? :thumb: As ...

Re: Star Property
HHForum offers to list property for a small fee ... we take NO COMMISSION. :thumb: So you would rather take a few hundred / thousand Baht to list it rather than list it and take 1.75 Million Baht ? The few sites I did try to pay to list it simply got me lots of emails asking for help to get...

Re: Hua Hin Property agents and commissions
How about the brass neck of one I was using. His commission if he gets me a buyer for the asking price which is cheap is 1.75 million Baht. He called me to ask if I could pick him up and then go to the hotel his customers were staying and pick them up and take them to see the house and land. I then ...

Re: Where best to overnight break a Hua Hin to Samui drive
Continue past the last Don Sauk ferry turn off and relax in Khanom. Yes a long ways (7 hours drive) but quiet village with a few nice beach side "resorts". Why would any one in their right mind drive past the ferry port that can take them where they want to go to spend money on a hotel an...

Re: Buying a petrol powered strimmer/grass cutter
As I said for a bike yes always go for the Honda but for something like this I can't see the point. I have had mine over 3 years and spent maybe 120 Baht on it. if it goes bang tomorrow I go and buy another and I am still 2 grand in pocket compared to the Honda if 8K. Less than 20 quid a year and st...

Re: Buying a petrol powered strimmer/grass cutter
I have had a Chinese make weed whacker for the last 3 years. Supatec if I remember rightly. I paid just over 3000 Baht for it and it has never let me down once. The most it has cost me is a couple of petrol pipes when the staff have used gasohol instead of 91. Apart from that it is as good as new. Y...

Re: Star Property
I had one agent here on Samui email me to ask whether I would like to pay 40,000 Baht to have my property in the next issue of their magazine. When I asked wasn't this part of their job considering I am paying them just under 2 million Baht in commission to sell my property they appeared to be upset...
