An interesting article, I think the reason that an old politician like this is being considered is summed up by this statement in the introduction: Samak is also one of the few politicians in the country with the stature to lock horns with Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda, whom certain PPP ...

BANGKOK (AFP) — Thailand's political parties Thursday took an oath at the country's most sacred Buddhist temple that next month's elections would be free of the rampant vote-buying which afflicted previous polls. Leaders and candidates from political parties took part in the ceremony at the Temple...

I’d flog the lot in the UK and buy an Ipod Randy. If the thing cost 7,000 quid, I imagine the quality would be too good for those Issan parties up in Surin where you’re heading.
And those old vinyl albums are no good for decorating Tuk-tuks; you need CD’s for that!

I have to drive from Hua Hin to Issan in December and I’m hoping that this will make the journey quite a bit easier.
Hopefully this new road will also make a direct bus link to the airport more feasible.

Yes, I’ve always used Big C for that kind of thing, but I’ll have a look in Makro anyway as I’m often down that way.

If I were you Dawn, I would release all those dogs where they can bark at all the people who endlessly complain about stray dogs without lifting a finger to help the situation. You succeeded in keeping HHDRC going far beyond what anyone else could have achieved, which is no failure in my eyes. Good ...

I recently bought a new Casio Exilim still camera and have been amazed at the quality of the video recording on it. As long as you have a large capacity SD card it is makes a surprisingly good movie. I think unless you intend doing anything sophisticated a dedicated video camera is not really requir...

Guess wrote: It seems to me that his is some archaic law that was imposed to counter Commie insurgency back in the fifties. It certainly sounds like something you would expect in a police state; I suppose that’s what comes of living under a junta in a non-democratic state. On the other hand it sou...

Yes, what matters to the airline is the country the ticket is issued in or delivered to. You can buy a ticket for a flight in a country other than the departure point, but for the list price in the country you buy it in, which could be substantially different. Of course you can buy a ticket at the d...
