Re: Limerick Thread

:( :( There was a young bat from Wuhan
As an act of revenge, devised a plan
It let off a fart
So the virus could start
And no-one was safe to a man :(

Not offended in the slightest Steve - maybe better posted in "Coronavirus Humour" though

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

To contradict my last optimistic post, some London hospitals have gone on record to say the COVID-19 deaths ARE higher (double in some cases) than stated but simply not yet recorded appropriately. And don't forget those who have died outside the hospitals (at home etc.) which are not recorded. Appa...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Back to the virus, our death rate in UK has dropped for the last 2 days. Our curve is beginning to flatten already, but this can change over the next few days as we have seen with Italy and Spain. The NHS is more than competent to deal with the current flow. But they are already refusing ventilator...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

It's a serious point that there is a younger generation that aren't really very likely to die of this who are being expected to pay for it. I would say that the younger generation are less likely to die - perhaps a difference in terminology, but trust me ALL generations will not only be expected to...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Edit: sorry mods I've encouraged some off topic posts today on this serious thread. My fault. :offtopic: Well yes (but I'm also guilty), there are 1 or 2 photo's and comments that should be in the "Coronavirus Humour Thread", but the whole alcohol issue is serious and quite frankly I don'...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

I've had to call the police twice in the last week. That really doesn't surprise me - the LHG and I are seriously lucky where we live quite honestly. Edge of "Chepstow Town" in the Wye Valley, close to a small wood and fields to take a quick walk, <5 mins drive from Tesco (genera...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Joking apart, it's "silly doors" in some places. A very good friend of mine is a heating engineer who has been called out on "emergencies" (the usual burst pipes, heating, boilers etc.) and to be honest, the cr@p he has witnessed is quite something - Pi$$heads galore apparently. ...

Re: The Rugby Thread

Interesting, I hadn't heard about that. I can see the logic, but I'm not entirely convinced: do we want more kicking at the expense of running rugby? On the other hand, will it result in more running rugby due to 1 or 2 defenders back for the kick? It'll be interesting to see how it develops when w...

A fairly significant change to tactics in both defense and attack - a good move on the face of it, certainly if it reduces injuries (especially concussions) :thumb: Source: - https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/new-rugby-law-5022-wales-18005620 "Rugby looks set to kick off afte...

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

As mentioned by PeteC in another thread, alcoholism could well be a significant problem due to lockdown(s) due to the Coronavirus. Access to online sales of alcohol, boredom etc. This article from The Guardian (UK) - bloody frightening and not something I would have expected in/from Greenland (viole...

Not Roman, certainly not British, Mongol? That was quick! Right on pharvey  Answer: When Genghis Khan united North East Asian tribes to form the Mongol Empire, he created an empire that would span 9.27 million square miles in one mass at its peak in 1270.
