Re: speed bumps

One of the good things about the forum is that you can rant about things that cannot be changed. Today, Im riding my m'bike, I go over the 23rd speed bump of the day and my back tire goes flat. Big tear in tire, not from that one but from the hundreds that it has had to pass over. Its a bitch AND th...

Re: Best Hua Hun tailors?

remember the tailors shops do no tailoring, they are just salesmen. The clothes are made by Thais in liitle sweat shops. As you go up Soi 80, almost the last business on the left is such a shop. One alternative is to visit them, tell them what you want, then the difficult part, go and buy however muc...

Re: The Digital Surgery

Thank you, that is very important. I often ask another person to read, correct, add or subtract and improve my work. I hate it if it is returned with corrections unmarked and I have to double-read the two versions.

Re: Dengue fever in Hua Hin?

I was out last night, I meta guy I know who told me that he and his wife had had Dengue for a day or two but was now fine. Felt tired for two days and mild raise in temp. No blood test confirmation, just a self-diagnosis. Probably not.

Re: Dengue fever in Hua Hin?

There isa mini-hysteria about Dengue, There are people who feel shitty for a day or two and say--I had Dengue, If you think you have it--go to one of the labs in town, not the hospitals and request a Dengue Fever antibody test and a Full Blood count to see what your platelet level is.

Re: JJ's on the move?

more than getting popular, they are now putting out more tables every night. the crowd is in the hundreds and is heavily Thai. My only gripe is the loudness of the music, I get me food and try to finda seat as for from the band as possible. Small beers at 35b, that's 7/11 price

Re: JJ's on the move?

I don't think you have seen the beer garden, have you Uncle Tom? It is maybe twice the size of Poolsuk, has a Philip band playing at the back, nicely furnished and prices the same as the bars, Big competition.

The food is a little more expensive than Soi 88 but is still relatively cheap and some nice alternatives. The music is NOT nearly as deafening as at Soi 88.Chang beer 55...

Re: Thais protest over move to let foreigners practice law

the difference from the EU there will be no equivalent of the Court in Brussels that can over rule member state govts on issuescovered by the charter,
Thailand will handle it in its usual way by just ignoring it. The admin of ASEAN (S'pore dominated) will find that their mail is unanswered.
