Re: Transfer of car ownership
Help please. I am selling my truck (tearful sniff!) in part exchange for a new vehicle. No yellow book, so I know I have to go to immigration for proof of residence. Apart from provide all the car docs, can anyone advise if there is anything else I need to do? The exchange is scheduled for the 15th...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Couple of points on this subject. I have been living and working overseas from UK for best part of 30 years, and in that time I have always been with Barclays. Recently (last summer), I spoke with a lady from the bank over the phone ref ordering a new pin reader and debit card, to be sent to me in ...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Just looked at Lloyds International and you need a minimum of £25,000 in there and there are monthly fees. https://www.lloydsbank.com/international/products-and-services/current-accounts/international-account.html I had something similar with HSBC in Jersey and closed it when they started c...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Try Lloyds International, based in both the Isle of Man and in Jersey. They have sterling accounts with credit and debit cards for non res UK citizens. Thanks for the info, I already have accounts with them, historical ones with no fees, so I will enquire about a card. I don't use a card much but i...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Pagey, I had an application for an account accepted by Starling Bank, although the debit card has not arrived yet. The letters I received from Santander actually said "Unfortunately we are not able to give you further information about how we've made our decision" Charming. The account ha...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Just received an SMS from Barclays with a letter to follow saying as my address is outside the UK I will need to close my accounts. Just started claiming my company pension 6 months ago and have it sent there so now there is activity every month but clearly the amount of usage is immaterial. It's my...

Re: Best Instant Coffee available in Hua Hin
Everyone's coffee tastes are different, and I'm no aficionado so can't be arsed messing around with machines, but this one gets me going in the mornings. My bean to cup coffee machine is currently out of action so having to drink instant and it's a lot more arsing about every time I want a coffee t...

Re: UK bank closing accounts for customers living in Thailand
Did anyone find a solution to a UK bank closing the UK account of a customer based in Thailand? I'm with Santander, and they seem to have noticed I'm in Thailand. They also mention HMRC, and me being classed as non-UK resident. (Even though I pay UK tax and my Santander account has money coming in ...

Re: Back pain clinic/doctor
How is your back today after 4 days ? Better or as you mentioned you might need more sessions? Wishing you to get better quickly Still a few twinges but not enough to have me blaspheming out loud with the agony like the end of last week, still using ice pack on it, not bad enough for another appoin...

Re: Back pain clinic/doctor
Malcolm, look at their website, they have a messaging system so you can ask the question direct. Thursday evening after getting recommendations here I went on their website where you can book an appointment online. They had one appointment only on Friday afternoon with the Osteopath which I booked, ...
